I'm Puerto Rican, combat vet. I still remember when Trump blocked aid to PR after hurricane Maria by telling his senators to do so. He then blocked an investigation on why the aid was blocked. He finally send a small portion of the aid package weeks after the disaster. He then flew there to throw paper towels at us, then joked about trading us for Greenland. We have bled and died in every American war since the 1900. Trump didn't even know Puerto Ricans were citizens and even when he learned we were, he still treated us like second grade American citizens. I love all you do John Leguizamo And I always appreciate your efforts. Being black and Hispanic, growing and as I continue to get older, Hispanics can be very racist themselves. And that is a part of the reason they are desensitized to Trump's racist rhetoric. Experiencing and dealing with those within the Hispanic culture, countless times who look down at other people like myself because of the color of our skin and treating other Hispanics like they are less. Hispanic people tend to also have this class-mentality. We verbally express our pride as Hispanics, but at the same time, act with a "as long as it's not me" attitude. And that attitude is expressed more than the verbal outcry of our pride. I completely understand how hard it was for my family to come to this country and become naturalized as American citizens, and I try to do my best to be understanding of the path and the challenges it takes to be an American citizen. But a lot of our families who become American citizens look down at others because they are in position to say "as long as it's not me". Which disappoints me. And although those people that you interviewed have not said it with their words, I can tell they are expressing it in those seats

I watched a recent video/program that showed just how many border agents and time it took to identify and arrest 3 illegals. It was weeks and took a bunch of agents. There is no way Trump will want to spend his entire 4 years plus more to arrest the illegals. Bush let a bunch in at the end of his term. Then Obama's solution was to naturalize them all. I don't think Trump will be happy with either of those scenarios.

Disrespect our entire race and it's met with a shoulder shrug if it doesn't affect me directly. Back in the early 80s Def Leppard played a gig in Arizona and the singer made a comment about how they had just played in El Paso for "a bunch of greasy Mexicans". A couple of days later a friend of mine was cruising around playing Def Leppard and yes he was Mexican American. We asked him why given the racist comments we'd all heard about by then and he said "well, they didn't say them to me". I didn't get it then and I still don't. Anyway, keep up the fight John!

My heritage is Cuban on one side, and Spanish on the other. In America when you fill out an official form that asks your ethnicity, one of the selections is: "Hispanic, Non-white" because some people are mixed like me, so we can use BOTH terms, but Hispanics are considered to be "white".

My word that must be taxing! I became cognizant of how annoying that must be very early on. So for years now when I am making small talk with a stranger it doesn't matter what they look like or how thick their accent is, instead of asking where they came from I say "Are you from around here?" Some say yes, they've been in the area for years and now identify as being from here. Others will say "no, I'm from ____" - but my hope is that by framing the question that way I do not other them by imposing the assumption that they must be from somewhere else.
