As a retired GM mechanic and working on lots of duramax LB sevens that tick is what the GM came up with it's something to do with the oil pump it's normal and the hazing of the injectors those balance rates are perfect. I've never found a balance rate off that caused the hazing ..it was always replace all the injectors and then it was good for another 100,000 they are just poor designed injectors new rebuilt doesn't make any difference same failure rate.. so plan on 100,000 mile tune up when injectors get practiced at it!!!

I will keep that in mind and hope by doing good maintenance, using a good additive and just taking care of it will make it last a long time. Thanks for watching and the comment.

So you ran it straight off the Marvel? I’ve got one injector giving me fits #2. All my others are golden and I’ve got the notorious haze. I ran the GM upper cylinder/diesel mix thru it and it came down .5 but is still hovering around -3.5 to 4 at times. Truck runs perfect has no tick has 276k on the engine and around 80k on this set of injectors.

Follow what I did in the video. It may help it may not. I did end up replacing my injectors and that is what ultimately solved the problem. You may want to consider a lift pump and fuel filter up grade as well. If your injectors have any kind of time on them and you didn't run an additive. It may just be time to replace them. These original injectors that are older were not designed for ulsd. The ones available today are made of harder materials to with stand the lack of lubricity in todays diesel fuel. I bought my injectors from Lincoln Diesel and they were very informative with my project of changing them. I did not make a video on this because many others did and this was my first time replacing injectors on a common rail. I bought there kit and also replaced the injector lines because of age, pitting and rust. I bought the GM replacement from Lincoln Diesel because I didn't want to take a chance of leaks cheap lines. I hope this helps little long of a reply. I try to help what I can. @@GMechinic my truck has a fass lift pump on it. Injectors have around 80k and we’re new oem Bosch when replaced last. Truck has around 276k runs perfect. I did run it off Marvel and didn’t notice a change at all. I think I’ve got a plunger scored or just wore bc on my PPE readings #2 is showing -5.5 which tells me it’s pulling fuel back bc it’s getting too much to that cylinder. I’ve got a brand new set of Industrial Injection 90hp injectors but they’re the older vco tips. I’m tempted to send them to Lincoln and let them swap the tips to sac 45 overs since I know the bodies are new and have zero run time.

@@dommeister4004 Before doing anything I would contact Lincoln Diesel and see what they have to say. I'm sure they will be able to help. Thanks for watching and the comment
