Loving how Santangelo spoke for Maldini and pointed out the inconsistencies. If we check Moncada&Furlani signings, seems like Pulisic and Reijnders are the only clear improvements, everyone else is (so far) average at best. Some people mention CDK and missing Kolo Muani, but they are awfully quiet when it comes to Chukwueze (20+8mil) and M.Thuram and so on. Let's also remember that the only players they've sold are Simic, Krunic, Messias and Tonali. Most of the unwanteds are now out on loan, none one on obligation except for CDK.

I will say it once and I will say it again. Moncada needs to be fired! Our mercato was helter skelter and unprepared. From the opening of the window players should have been lined up to be sold immediately. We should have identified tiered prospects with a budget under it. How the hell did we not end up with Thiago Santos. We should have gotten Richard Rios, Thiago Santos and a ACM, we did not even get Kone. Who would have fit our profile even better. Matt amazing take and I’m glazing heavyyy. No leadership, no cohesion. Maldini is the magic of the Rossoneri, he is the spirit. He gave his life to the club. He went through war as a soldier. He is the greatest defender to ever live and you fire him while our biggest issue is our defense? He taught them how to defend. The art of defending is Paolo Maldini. Its heartbreaking when they do shit like this because Martino is right Gerry is speaking about the yankees with love because he loves baseball. He speaks about Milan like business because he does not know football.

Pulisic was quiet all game due to him being stuck doing defensive responsibilities trying to help Calabria keep Jota and Gakpo at bay. And when Milan did have the ball it mostly went up the middle or his teammates would end up passing it to Leao like they always do.

If it would only be for top 4, we wouldn’t need to sweat over manager arguments at all because all of the names we’re linked with including our current manager can make top 4 easily. We have the players for top 4 no matter the manager

Hello Martino, I am here for the first time and absolutely liking the conversation. So, I like to add my little opinion about getting a new coach. With the likes of Tuchel or Sarri, they are not gonna go anywhere with the likes of Calabria, Tomori, Royale and Loftus Cheeks! And, if this management persists, it will be another opportunistic Boxing Day Sale shopping in the next transfer. For me the first thing to do, is to get a DAMN GOOD Sporting Director. Then, remove Ibra immediately, demote Moncada to scouting and send Furlani to be content with just corporate affairs. THEN ONLY, we should think about a new coach. Otherwise, we will keep getting Fonseca 2.0, 3.0.....😊

I really think a formation change is needed. I hope a 4-3-3 with an extra body in midfield would help but with our midfielders and the lack of the true CDM is killing us. Id consider a 3-4-3 personally. Just having an extra body in defense and not having to Calabria or Royal (and both are on the same level to me - minimal difference) getting spun resulting in disaster. Something has to change here.

After so many embarrassing performances its safe to say the biggest problem is not the coach, this team is technically poor and afraid of going forward, thats why they are always hesitate to pass the ball through the opposite's high pressing and it looks so bad. Until they can confidently build up from the back and go forward like Inter did vs City, there's no hope.

Maldini also allowed Chalanoglu, Kessie and Donnaruma for free and it was reported that his last year idea of transfers were Baldanzi, who is deep in Romas bench and Berardi who is like an explayer for the last 2 years! So no Maldini wasn't necessarily a great director. The only thing on his favor is that we knew he was serious about the club winning

@@MartinoPuccio not at all, he nahively believed Donnaruma and Kessie for at least a year and a half that they were going to renew and he was played like a kid who believed players are playing for the shirt love and not money. They had to be sold for whatever money he could get and he didn't and that's on him. The Hakan situation was probably more aligned with what you're saying as no one at the club valued him at his current salary. So I can give him a pass there. And lastly the CDK has to be also on him because he knew the coach didn't play with 2 strikers and he wasn't playing on Brugge neither as a winger nor a Trequartista, he was a second striker and he thought he could be playing on the other positions for Pioli and that's why he failed at Milan. Now with Atalanta he is playing on both sides as a forward not as a winger, that's what he is

@@skullfc4215 He did his best to keep a team together that ended up achieving great goals and going beyond. He did everything as best he could with what he was given. Sure some sales but those players were worth keeping, got us Top 4 and a Scudetto, big accomplishments for where they were out. They were publicly betrayed when Kessie says he will stay and Donnarumma alike. They chose to misdirect the club, that isn't naive. That is part cheapness from ownership and players wanting more money. CDK was not given a chance with Pioli at all and played out of position, having to retell these points is exhausting when they immediately shipped out a signing where Pioli blames Maldini for his poor tactical flexibility
@MdAbidHossainzim
@MdAbidHossainzim Күн бұрын
@@skullfc4215 according to your logic, Hakan's transfer was okay, but Donnaruma and Kessie were his faults? He was ready for Donnaruma. He waited until the last minute for Donnaruma before signing Mike. Kessie never played him or the club. He got several times more salary offer from Barcelona to leave only for free months before his contract ended. Maldini dealt with him professionally and got a very good year out of him. Maldini didn't treat the players as commodities, valued them, and brought the team mentality that the current team lacks so much. CDK brings creativity which Pioli lacked. Also where did you get this news that Pioli didn't want CDK? I think issues arose after CDK came to Milan. Origi was probably the worst signing, but the guy was doing great with the occasional chances he got in Liverpool at that time.

@@MartinoPuccio he wasn't betrayed, he was played because his inexperience on the position, don't be idealistic, it's a business and he made the club loose at least 50MM between the two of them. He made a mistake with CDK because he knows football and he knew the coach he renewed wasn't going to use him properly and he bought him anyway. Again his mistake. Just to be clear, I'm not saying we're better without Paolo, right now the club is being runned by a group of dream sellers, not football people, and we need a capable sporting director, but Maldini's tenure now is being overblown just because what we have at this moment is horrific, not because Maldini did a super amazing job, he did an ok job. Also remember the piece that came out last year about the guys Maldini want to buy, Baldanzi and Berardi, how would we looking at him right now with those 2

Penny pinching deals, no urgency and quality players in the marketplace, a shell of manager with no real drive or discipline to get the most out of players. We have players that think they are bigger than what they really are or at least have shown in the last couple years and we don’t have a coach capable of humbling them and putting them to work. Let them compete to stay on the pitch. We are loosing matches anyway so I would rather bench you if you are not willing to die on the pitch for milan. We need a coach who first and foremost honors grit, hardwork, before talent. This is what makes up mentality. We need a disciplinarian. We talk about leaders, well the most obvious leader is first the coach and good leaders breed leaders. Wonder why we’ve had players that have been with us for 5 years and more and still act like kids and it’s sad because they are almost past their formative years. A child smiles and plays when he is given candy and cries when it’s take away. A grown man will pursue it and get it if it’s taken away.

Without the Tonali money our midfield would be Krunic-Bennacer-Pobega, our midfield right now is playing terrible but at least its better than the midfield that we would have with Maldini. Also let me remind you that our RW and Striker with Maldini staying would be Kamada and Arnautovic. Maldini being fired was a good decision. italy cannot sustain a big club except for juventus given the current circumstances. marotta is doing wonders in pushing inter past its point but thats it. big time sponsors dont want in, FIGC continues to do nothing and prize pool will continue to be a joke, stadiums look just as bad as ancient roman remnants (granted these could prob have better playing conditions than 50% of serie a stadiums), bottom table teams are leeches who are just fine with staying up with no other ambitions, piracy is rampant... you could have elon musk as an owner and he could be so in love with milan but as long as UEFA regulations exist hes not going to spend more than what elliot or redbird have without repercussions. modern stadiums are a step in the right direction but thats a distant dream and who knows how much terrible things can (and will) happen until. state and local officials seem to do everything within their power to prevent any moves in moving grounds. roma has been "getting" a new stadium for solid 20 years now. were in the middle of being played a fool by italian bureaucracy. rich international owners would rather invest in a project in como than a populous football hungry city french football is already in its gradual collapse period, calcio is next

Milan management don’t have a clue about building a team. Until we replace Moncada, Ibra, and Furlani with an experienced CEO and Sporting Director this team will continue to suffer. Bring back Gazidis as CEO and get Tony D’Amico from Atalanta. Then they will build a winning by hiring the right coach and the right players. As for Fonseca, we needed a coach like Conte, Allegri or Tuchel. This Milan team needs a big coach. As for Maldini, he sucked as a director and I will stand by that. I respect him as a player but he’s just another inexperienced egocentric past player. You can’t justify spending 35m on CDK when we needed a replacement for Kessie when Amrabat was available for 30m and Dybala was a free agent. We didn’t need CDK. We still had Diaz on loan so getting Dybala would have made more sense. Also signing Origi who was injured and a bench warmer at Liverpool on a 4.5m 4yr contract is criminal by Maldini. And he wanted to replace Pioli with Pirlo? WTF was Maldini smoking. Sorry but the problem at Milan is hiring inexperienced past players in management. Milan need EXPERIENCE Sporting Director and CEO. No Maldini and No Ibra. Period! The 2017 transfer cost Milan to be sanction by UEFA for financial fair play. We over paid for players and to add insult to injury we didn’t qualify for UCL.

Maldini was not there in 2017. You want to get the guy Tony from Atalanta who bought the same CDK from Milan? Origi transfer, I agree. But if you don't want to spend a good amount for a striker who else could you get at that time? Giroud and Ibra deals worked out. Origi did well at Liverpool with occasional chances he got. It was hard to predict that failure. Honestly, most fans were probably excited with this deal more than the Ibra or Giroud deal. Before CDK, he wanted to bring Renato and Botman for months and the management didn't give him green signals there. Milan would not pay Dybala's salary. I also don't think CDK was a failure, we just need a better attacking coach. You are okay to buy Amrabat for 30m, but not CDK at 35m?Atalanta happily bought CDK for 28m.You assume that Pirlo is a trash coach. First there was no talk that Maldini wanted him immediately. It was just a friendly talk. Maldini probably saw some potential in Pirlo. You may argue how badly Pirlo is doing now. But look how Kompany is doing at Bayern compared to Burnley. Sometimes the coach needs the right mix of players. Look how Ancelotti evolved from his early years of managerial career. He was very poor and rigid early, but evolved later together with Maldini as his captain.

@@ziontrain7887 about CDK, that's my point. Why can't the coach adapt accordingly? Gasparini used to play with a lone striker and two wingers. He adapted and gave freedom to CDK. But Pioli didn't allow the attacking players to move freely. Tell me what Kompany has achieved so far as a manager. Pirlo finished in the top 4 and got Juve to the quarter. As Gasperini, he prefers to work with young players and not elite level players because he’s not a man manager like Ancelotti. Gasperini would never do well in a top club that’s why he failed at Inter. Pioli would have been a failure at Milan without leaders like Ibra and Giroud and Pioli is the type of coach who is always using players out of their best position. You also choose not to mention Maldini was not just fired for his personnel choices but also his inner struggle for more power when he wasn’t holding the cards. Saying we lost to Lazio, which isn’t true, and laughable saying this is the worst run club in football. To say this is worse than Banter era is an absolute joke and downright blasphemy. This ownership has not been great but it has brought it out of financial ruin and has grown it exponentially worldwide. Not even Chelsea fans complain this much. I know you can say if you don’t like my show don’t listen and that’s fair but I usually agree with you. Yes Pulisic has been good offensively, but he doesn't know his defensive position which is why RB is suffering more compared to when Alexis used to play as RW. He did not leave for power struggle. He wanted more authority and clarity while signing players and urged the management for more budget. He failed to pass Renato and Botman deals for not getting green lights from the higher management. He was failing to keep or sign players with that 5m salary cap. He was right to ask for more budget as the core team he had was very close to peak and he needed some world class signings to pluck the holes for immediate success. With Maldini at the director role, Zlatan and Giroud up front with their leadership and experience, Tonali and pre-injury Bennacer were a far better midfield than what we are right now, Tomori and Kjaer were the best defensive duo we had in ages... But instead of building on that great foundation with investments and signing great players to replace the old experienced ones, the management decided to sack Maldini, sell Tonali, and cheap out on players and coaches. So, instead of progressing from the scudetto season, we regressed. But that scudetto wasn't an accident. We were truly on our way up and Cardinale managed to fuck it up.
