I'd almost bet SC slippage is below threshold. It is VERY VERY common for new skis to come from factory with the slip set WAY too low. WELL documented problem. I'd almost bet it is SC clutch slippage.

It does lower top speed for sure its too much volume of water flow, having said that if you want to hook up in 1-1.5 ' chop riva way to go. I have one on my 84 mph gpr and an oem one on my 81 mph fzs. Its also much heavier and stainless, that may help keep back end in water

Is there an opinion or comparison video between riva vs worx, grates. For the st3 hull. Worx is a much cheaper option in Australia.

Issue NO ONE seems to be able to solve, I have a ace 300 in my scarab rpms are limited 6900 runs great but just doesn't reach max rpms. no codes, no boost leak from hoses and shop says they are done. I have brought up slippage and intake manifold split they said no way. This is the second shop any other ideas or things to look for? I have a candoopro coming to use from here on out. Our local dealers suck

Are the "aftermarket intake" theories applicable to Yamaha ( SMC FX ) hulls as well?

I'd assume it does. Borrowing Kevin's metaphor, it'd be the same as swapping between all-weather tires and drag tires, just on a different car. Different machine, same effect. (I don't know this for a fact, someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems reasonable.)

Curious why you think a damaged impeller or wear ring would cause lower rpm. Seems to me it would result in more cavitation resulting in the ski being more likely to hit the rev limit. This has been my experience on every ski I've owned that had a damaged wear ring or impeller.

The imbalanced harmonic of a damaged impeller will NEVER run as efficiently as a pristine one. Blunted, bent or otherwise damaged impellers rarely ever run at peak RPM.

Interesting that RIVA promotes it as no top end loss. Whatever loss there is, is undoubtedly subtle, but present nonetheless.
