I appreciate the detailed answer to his question. I have never ridden a better handling 3 SEATER than the 21 yamaha gp1800 R.. It is amazing you point it goes. and no i havent put any riva sponsons on it.

Hi mate I’m in Brisbane I have a gtx 230 2020 with same hull I went with Worx sponsons on middle blade setting with backing block at it heighest Also installed a intake grate Ski is a lot better Still has great top speed It doesn’t bow hunt in chop and tracks in a straight line My settings still make the ski lean into turns and not give too much bite

I have worx on my GP, they are a big improvement on the stock ones and as I’m not a racer I couldn’t justify the more then double price tag of the Riva ones. The worx sponsons are perfect for your average Joe they stiffen up the back end and give you a bit more confidence. If I raced the riva sponsons would be a must.

Ive tested the worx and riva back to back on my 22FX. Riva is 100% better and well worth the money.

I have the worx sponsons on a Yamaha EX. I have them down to the 3rd position (hole before last) and they do stabilize the ski tremendously, specifically if you have 2 riders, I experience something weird as I take off into plain, the ski will loose traction for a second, like I lost a sponson but it quickly corrects as it gets on plane and full traction and stability begin. On chop it likes to go full blast an is very stable, at around 25 -30 the ski seems to get pushed aside from the chop. … very weird. I have not tried any other positions, but will try pulling it up one hole, to see if it’s better. Any ideas as to what is happening? Anyone? I see reviews on riva ones and they don’t seem to have any issues.

That sounds odd. I have an EXR so much the same ski with the Worx sponsons. I have them on the second bolt, ie. hole after the first - so fairly conservative. I haven't noticed any pushing of the ski around at different speeds. In fact the only thing I don't like is that it's harder to spin out so I was going to move them as high as possible but I'm not sure it'll be all that different anyway since I'm only 1 bolt down. But I haven't noticed the issue you're describing. I would suggest trying a different setting - maybe raise the sponsons by 1 bolt hole.

@@simonwallace699 thanks for the input, I will try your suggestion and move them up to match your setup. I wonder if the intake grate that’s on your ski (a Riva clone) helps with what I experienced. I have the EXR grate in my garage ready for installation. But I will move the setting up to see if that’s what it was. Thanks for info!

i have bought the worx sponsons for my 2023 fx limited svho, the only thing i liked is that it bites in corner. the stability of the ski is completely gone and this is more noticable with 2 people on the ski. it became very tippy side to side at low speed , it feels as if you have lost steering completely i hated it. my setting were on the second hole so i have 2 more to go. however, i dont think i would want to do that i will just prefer to put the stock one back .
