I think that was why Ram was separated from Dodge some years ago. I think the plan was to just abandon the name but couldn't do it right away or were worried about the push back. The new charger doesn't even say Dodge on it. Has the Stelantis logo. They just want to ride the high of car names but not the brand. The Dodge name is kind of gone already. I think the Chrysler name is only around due to the minivan. No American parent would buy a Stelantis Pacifica, they trust it and know it as the Chrysler Pacifica but, it'll be gone soon. They're gonna milk & squeeze everything out of these vehicles for quick large profit and once done, they'll sell the brands they don't want anymore
@MichaelDozier-j1b2 ай бұрын
Stellantis will keep RAM/Jeep...too much brand value....and a clear path to fix the issues....improve quality and lower prices. They will NOT invest in a new V8 and are willing to let those buyers go elsewhere. I'm sure the the next CEO will keep ICE and hybrid in the lineup. Chrysler will be sold to China for billions of dollars....but what will happen to Dodge ? If they think they can sell a reasonable volume of Dodge SUVs, minivans (rebranded Pacifica), and Hurricane powered Chargers, why would they sell it ? I don't see them selling Dodge to private equity (Frank Rhodes) since Dodge still has too much brand value. If things don't pan out maybe they sell to a Chinese/Japanese/Korean automaker or conglomerate. By then the warranties on the Hemi Chargers/Challengers will have expired.

I think you are right. I remember the last Chrysler bankruptcy. We are in our 70's and shopping for a new car. Our past cars have been a z28 Camaro, a Boss 351 Mustang with the Cleveland engine, and a 2006 Charger RT. The 2023 Charger scat pack was our first choice but we decided to go a different route due to the unwanted attention thieves have placed on this model. We are ordering a 2025 Mustang GT with most all of the options. Who wants to buy a car without proper security that hoodlums are stealing as fast as good people can buy them. I wish Dodge could be owned again by someone that respects high performance. They were a good company for so many years. My best friends car out of high school was a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda withe the high performance 340 with low rear end gearing. Those were the days. We appreciate all the information we can get about the car companies. Keep up the good work.

You do reliaze that Chrysler, Dodge and Ram and Jeep are divisions of Stellantis. Which means if one fails to gain any money or isn't competitive, Stellantis can do whatever it wants to do with that brand, including dissolving it completely. If GM can discontinue Oldsmobile, Stellantis can discontinue Chrysler, or any other brand that we have here, including Dodge, Jeep and Ram. And Stellantis doesn't care if these brands have value. They can discontinue them if they fail to be competitive or make any money. Even if Chrysler is worth billions of dollars, Stellantis doesn't care if Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram have any value. I wish Chrysler could just go back to being the Chrysler Corporation and be their own company again. The entire Chrysler company has a lot of work ahead of them. Chrysler needs to rebrand themselves and figure out who they are and why they need to exist today. Jeep, RAM and Dodge need to fix quality issues. Dodge specifically needs to diversity in their lineup. I know everyone thinks everyone who wants a Dodge wants a V8 and while that is partially true, it's not entirely true. Even with the V8 was their main selling point a lot of Dodge customers did not buy V8 models of their vehicles. I know people hate the Hornet, but it's actually an important vehicle for Dodge. They just need to clean up their reliability and lower the price of them and I think they'll sell very well. Dodge cannot survive on just V8 sales. It can have both electric, Hybrid, and ICE vehicles and this is what it needs. It shouldn't be EV only. It's way too early for that. Prices need to be lower across the board and they need to cleanup their dealer network as well. It's killing their brands and pushing customers the other way. They can do everything right and people can get excited for a vehicle but if the dealership experience sucks and people are getting screwed over none of this matters. The dealers are the face of the company in a way. Hopefully things change for the better in the next couple of years whether from Stellantis themselves or if they get sold off to someone else who can better take care of these brands.

@ocmotivator2 ай бұрын
What did I say that you beg to differ from and what’s your source? You know you can google this and there’s literally no law requiring 12 years. Here’s the except that explains it from Hemmings article link at the bottom: Some folks point to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which became law in early 1975. Passed at the height of concern about lemon laws and automotive quality from Detroit automakers, Magnuson-Moss essentially holds automakers’ feet to the fire when it comes to offering warranties. It doesn’t mandate a specific amount of time that manufacturers of any consumer product should offer replacement parts, but it does note that, if the product (or a component part thereof) contains a defect or malfunction after a reasonable number of attempts by the warrantor to remedy defects to malfunctions in such product, such warrantor must permit the consumer to elect either a refund for, or replacement without charge of, such product or part. So that means as long as a carmaker offers a warranty covering certain systems (like, for instance, a drivetrain warranty), it must provide the parts necessary to fix those systems. www.hemmings.com/stories/ask-a-hemmings-editor-how-long-do-carmakers-have-to-provide-replacement-parts-for-older-cars/
