most plays are standard besides the AKo 7bet jam when most players have no 6bet bluffs. One suggestion is that as ppl are calling you wider due to your image, slightly tighten your range, bluff less and bet more for value could bring you more ev in short term i guess, anyways you are still my favorite vlogger, rampage and you are both in downswing, but at least your plays seem more rational!

Great vlog. I appreciate your honesty and seeing that even people who seem to be lucky all the time also can run bad and get triggered to play differently. I am just coming off a 3-4 month really unlucky downswing that had me playing upside down (at wayyyyyy lower levels than HCL). I decided to take a break, play less, do some studying with a new coach, and come back to a lower level of mtts and cash. My ego didn't want to but that's ridiculous. I learn a good amount from these "poker resets" just when I feel like quitting. We will still watch you play at lower levels as seeing the truth and how you handle it is useful. I hope it turns around for you soon.

I think I've appreciated this Vlog and especially your post- session conversation maybe more than any other because it was so real and I can relate to it so well..., other than the huge stakes you play for. I really enjoyed the little tidbit about running into your playing buddy Dave in your 2/3 days at the Garden Casino when he took the last of your bankroll... and how that really helps to have perspective on how fortunate you've been and how far you've come since those by-gone days. Be patient...it will inevitably turn back around.

Much love and respect Mariano. Can't wait to refresh youtube in 4 vlogs time to see you're out of the dswing and in the green. Anyway I wanted to really let you know that something deep and sinister has been going on for about 6 months on HCL and TheLodge. There are a few players who are obvious whales/easy recs who at times have been making some very suspicious plays against certain opponents. I believe the Lodge has definitely been compromised by a staff member and there are 2 players who are getting some kind of information at the tables. I don't say this lightly but as someone who has been watching nearly every stream from thurs to sat for the past 3 years and streams and poker for the past 20 years I am telling you something is NOT right. Doug Polk knows his stream was compromised and that is why you will NEVER see this player on any future lodge streams. Tarras! I have 20 hands he has played that are suspicious and 4 that are really really suspicious. The timing, the line and the opponent. The other player %80 sure is Alex. Here is just one example but I urge EVERYONE to watch all of Tarras hands on other episodes and you will come to the same conclusion that Doug did if you are a say 7/10 reg. So if it happened at the lodge and got wrapped up it could happen at HCL so please stay safe Mariano and don't let them bleed you dry like they did to rampage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKSrhKJ3rdmaeq8

The AK hand was certainly an overplay. You have an older gentleman 6-betting to a considerable size, odds are it’s aces, at worst kings. Granted, spiking the K on the flop probably would have cost you a good chunk of your stack regardless, you were getting your money in bad preflop 80-90% of the time. Play fundamentally sound poker like you used to, don’t worry about chasing losses and playing big pots to entertain the vlog watchers. I think the majority of people are more interested in learning how to play poker on a fundamental level than watching you lose big pots.

Both you and Rampage are on massive downswings. While I think you're certainly the better player, the reason is most likely because you're both playing mostly (at least in terms of money) on streams. Mariano. I know this is like hitting the >%1 but I'll try. I've been watching you since I think your 12th vlog. I'm a 53 year old single father of an 11 year old. We all have stories. Mine is entertaining. My son is going to be grown soon and I am going to have time (the rest of my life) in front of me. I know what I want to do with it and that's to play poker. I'm taking steps now to ensure that he has a good start in life and after that the chips are in the pot, it's up to him to call or fold. I live in AZ (I saw the Talking Stick ep) and am wondering when is your next meet up or how to talk to you personally? I love the way you think about the game and would like to change my warped thinking of the game and I think you are the perfect person to help me. Right now I'm at the lowest $1/2. What do you think about taking a 53yr old novice and coaching him from 1/2 to 10/20 as a series on your channel? Obviously I would come to you. There is a lot more I want to say but I think this is long enough. I know you are a busy guy, but I've watched you (and Ethan) go from 1/3 to where you are now and think a poker coach series would be a good next step. But what do I know, I bomb the river repping the flush trying to get a pair of Aces to fold in a 1/2 game. Hope to hear from you.

I can't get over how terrible the fold was by Matt at 5:14. Without seeing the exact equity, he can calculate that he's getting about 36% because of 9 outs. He was getting 7/40 pot odds to call, or 17.5%. Even if somebody already had a set, at worst his equity drops to about 30%, which is still an incredibly profitable call. The only reasonable consideration is if somebody had a better flush draw, but that's a lot less likely because the Q of spades is on the board. Even so, if you're gonna play 43 suited, you're committing to the assumption that your flush would be the best hand more often than not. Hurt my soul to watch him toss that into the muck, even before I saw the run-out.
