Actually the names Aether and Lumine were confirmed as back as the "We will be reunited" quest. When the Abyss sibling (in my case Lumine) appeared, she called the Traveler Aether before asking why are we with Dain.

Reread Snow White and the Six Pygmies, replace the prince with Pahnes, the princess with Seelie, the 6 dwarves with Deinsleif and the others. The "blind" may actually be the "visionary". The dwarf who needs the prince's body to make the flowers grow...GOLD! The source where the princess rested: either Irminsul, or the primordial sea.The most interesting of all! The dwarf hides the prince's corpse in a hole. This is very reminiscent of Deinsleif and the eye of the cultivator of the earth............

Notice how The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies' description of the Pygmies is almost in opposition to each one of the Sinners' titles: - Blind Pygmy: "The Visionary" - Foolish Pygmy: "The Wise" - Shrunken Pygmy: "The Foul" - Timid Pygmy: "Rächer of Solnari"? - Carefree Pygmy: "Gold"? - Deformed Pygmy: "The Twilight Sword", most likely being him, due to him being the one who was in opposition to his brothers' plans. Also notice how story goes out of it's way to describe the Pygmies in a negative/repulsive way, which alludes to their abyssal nature, AND the fact that the narrator has a grudge against them. Out of all 6 Pygmies, only 1 felt guilt and remorse for what they did to the light prince, wrapping the prince with a tablecloth and taking him away from his 5 brothers in order to seek help from the princess. At the end of the story, that Pygmy: "hid the body in a tree hole and walked off alone into the night, and into a self-imposed exile." Hmmmmm... 6 cursed Pygmies (Sinners), 1 opposed the 5, is filled with grief, is on self-imposed exile, and has something important hidden in a tree (Bough Keeper)... I wonder who could that person be...

And specifically excited to hear your recreation of the cataclysm's events and the possible identity of the light prince, as well as the source of the transcendent power the 5 Sinners acquired. "So they became Sinners, but also transcendent beings" = The acquiring of such power requires doing something wrong, hence the name sinners. And someone could argue that people branded as sinners are also cursed, much like how the Pygmies got cursed by the soul of the comatose Prince.

people didn't like this quest ????? it was great lore-wise and insanely emotional and angsty moments throughout. it sucks that the traveller + abyss twin won't remember the reunion because it's what everyone has been waiting years for. but i think that just makes it even more emotional and heartbreaking. i don't blame caribert for implanting the memories into dainsleif to get the eye of the first field tiller. he was in an impossible situation, he was a vicitm of clothar and of the curse from the heavenly principles. with the loom completed, he did such a selfless and caring act to the hillichurls. he keeps calling his actions selfish but, he just wanted to know what it would be like to live. caribert is such a tragic character and now the loom is done and he disappeared, i hope he's able to be in peace

It mostly has to do with the fact that we don't get to see lumine and dain fight which I would rightly assume many people were hyped for, and 2nd it was too short, once again genshin main quest makers hammering themselves on the foot by excluding the exciting parts, but they have no problem making a 5 hour long quest about a day that repeats itself (sumeru act II) They need to hire the HSR story directors for genshin I swear

@@Indian_gae_boii actually yeah, i agree, it would have been cool to see the lumine vs dain fight. that would have added the length to it but i can't think of anything else that they could have added ? i feel like the shortness of the quest has some advantages because it brings focus to the more emotional aspects of the quest. but yeah definitely, going through the quest, i was sad to see it was short and even if it is intentional, i always want more quest time with dain since everything is so interesting lore-wise, and because the dain quests happen so far apart i thnk it could be better however to have two dain quests per region cycle, especially if they are so short. like having one in the x.3 or x.4 patches and then the x.7

The thing is, I don't think Aether _completely_ forgot about their reunion. The photo at the end of the quest should basically confirm that they indeed met to him, and while he might not remember what happened during it, he should still remember that it happened regardless.

one thought i had after finishing this quest is that when lumine says they can't use the loom of fate to its full potential yet, i think that means that the abyss order and the fatui both have 2 pieces of the puzzle and they need to combine them to achieve their shared goal. both the abyss order and the fatui basically want to overthrow the heavenly principles, destroy the "old world", and create a new one not under the rule of celestia, and they each have one piece of the puzzle that will allow them to do that. the fatui have the ability to "destroy the old world" in the form of arlecchino being able to erase people's memories and that premonition of dottore burning down irminsul, while the abyss order have the ability to "create the new world" with the loom of fate, which can create new leylines but not erase or alter existing ones. so i believe they will end up either teaming up or attacking each other to gain the other faction's piece of the puzzle, and i'm hoping all of this will culminate in the natlan aq.

I don't think the quest was terrible, but there are things to be criticized. For example, I don't think the Traveller should have to forget meeting their sibling, and I think that we should have seen Dain way more. I say both of those things because we get Traveller quests once a year. We don't have many instances where the Traveller gets to know more about their sibling, and that's literally the entire goal of their journey through Teyvat. Caribert giving the Traveller that picture just makes him a huge chad though, and it made me like Caribert even more. However, there were plenty of interesting things and really cool moments in this quest. It makes me more excited for future lore drops, and before Natlan I suppose we're still missing an interlude chapter so I'm very excited.

What was the mysterious power that the 5 sinners divided amongst themselves?? In the Khvarena of Good & Evil quest, Zurvan, the oldest Pari, who found Dainsleif mentions that "he was holding a ring tightly in his hand". What if this power is the ring of power, like Der Ring des Nibelungen?? Perhaps they divided this ring into six pieces--- and maybe this ring is part of the reason Dainsleif has been able the weather the curse of immortality for as long as he has. But where is this mysterious ring now? Has it been taken..? Perhaps, by Alberich? (is it possible that Kaeya will steal these rings in the future??) Also, interesting tidbit about the Vinster King, apparently vinster means "dark" in middle high german---- and can be combined with the word nebel or nibel, which means "fog, foggy, mist" as nebelvinster which means "pitch-dark". And we know what that means. *cough* Nibelung *cough*

Two things why i think people dont like this quest 1. Its too short....like sumeru act 2 was FIVE hours long but they couldnt spare a few extra minutes for this quest? 2. Tbh I feel like Genshin has been phoning it in for the last two patches with quests and even the new area. Idk if they are all hands on deck for ZZZ or what but everything has been a bit underwhelming. The new area last patch - huge swath of Sumeru just utterly empty. This event patch is unvoiced. Last patch event was one of the shortest I can remember. There were other things too. I just hope this wont be the norm going forward.

As Hroptatyr is known to be one of Odin's many names, and Irmin is likened to Odin as well because of Irminsul - Yggdrasil, would it be possible instead that the Vinster King is like a will of the abyss? In similar fashion to the Will of the Honkai, which is also responsible for all destruction of worlds where civilizations are advanced enough. Can also explain why Teyvat is protected by a firmament, from this Vinster King who, by Dain's words, is "continuing to rock the foundation of the world." What do you think?

Oooh, this could be so interesting --- "the perpetual meantime of a sheltered eternity" REALLY does sound like the realms of Caribert and the Goddess of Flowers. Perhaps Khaenri'ah was removed from spacetime and placed in a dream. A sheltered eternity like Caribert's where time doesn't move. Most are content to live like that, because being removed from time and space means immortality. The apex of alchemy. But the only way to achieve immortality is to remove oneself from the power of time - to betray the thousand winds of time. Perhaps, even, to destroy her, or seal her away. Also, if Khaenri'ah still exists in a realm of consciousness, we can travel there after Snezhnaya. It wouldn't matter that it doesn't still exist in space/time, because it still exists in a place where the god (of time's) gaze does not fall. And for now, Khaenri'ah exists only in a dream - but! - a Descender could take that "dream yet to be dreamed" and dream it into reality once again.

I like parts of this quest. Caribert's English VA was wonderful and he has a soothing way of talking. I wished he voiced a playable character. I liked the twin's reunion, even if they don't remember it. It's nice to see them together. And the lore bombs were definitely welcomed. The things I didn't like were: how short it was, Dainsleif's involvement, and lack of Kaeya . I know Dain's quests aren't nornally long. But I still think that's a disservice given how important his stories are. After so long, I wish they lengthened his quests. And then Dain himself. I make the jokes and the some of the fandom does to- he feels like the Tuxedo Mask of this game. Despite being incredibly important, he shows up, does little, and leaves. We didnt even get to see the fight against the Abyss Twin. And we didnt even see him leave. I don't want to completely disregard him, but I just wasnt satisfied. And Kaeya not being present is more for personal reasons. I will always prefer playable-chatacters be involved over NPCs. And just like the last Dain's quest, this one feel like another missed opportunity to learn more about Kaeya. He and Caribert are from the same family. And even if Kaeya wouldn't be personal with Caribert, it would've been nice to see him learn more about Khaenri'ah and what his people went through. Or at least a story that brings us closer to revealing the life-changing decisions Kaeya will eventually need to make. Overall I would say a 7.5/10 quest.

I didn't saw that mentioned but l believe sinners and Dainsleif can also be counterparts to primordial one and its shades. The Wise(can also call sage, l believe that sinner is made as Odin, who hang on the world tree just to get knowledge) -> the krown of mind/reason(don't know how this artifacts called in English but l suppose you get my point) -> Phanes. The visionary(who can see through time and space(on my language called the prophet too) -> clock of time -> Ishtaroth(who described to have thousand eyes, and know the future(can see though time and space with her countless eyes) The moon hunter -> ploom of death -> shade of death(basically hunting is bringing death, and l heard in past hunters used plooms like trophys) The gold -> flower of life -> shade of life(so gold was seeking to create primordial human, perfect being, she also was creating different type of lifes(dragons, homuncules, those stupid wolfs), and l suppose shade of life suits as her counterpart really well) Now we left with the foul who must be goblet of space and shade of space/sustainer consequencionaly(l'm not really sure but l think that can also suit because his student opened portal, like sustainer and skirk also turned narwhal to black hole, like sustainer traveler in cubes(kind of manipulating with matter and its mass) Than who would be Dainsleif, l think he kind of paimon, l mean Dainsleif was campanion of our tween, like paimon and paimon is for sure connected to Celestia. That not all l believe that vinster king(king of darkness) can be opposite to primordial one(you know that Phanes can be and not is primordial one, probably shade though) and l think its obvious that primordial one is connected to light(and kind of associated with light). Don't forget that sinners divided vinster king power and shades are basically fragments of primordial one. Actually if you think of it sinners wants to rule Teyvat, they want change irminsul with loom of fate, don't you think if they succed they basically would be the same as primordial one and its shades, just made of abyss.

The more stories I see of Genshin, the more it looks like most stories are reiterations of a few set of stories. Kind of like the story of the Wanderer being rehashed as the story of a cat: it feels like the "dream-like fairy tale" that is (apparently) teyvat is based on the imagination of a single (or probably a few) person. I haven't systematically mapped stories to their "source stories", but it kind of looks like quest stories are actually just modified versions of older history of Teyvat.

In we'll be reunited everyone (player included) finds out traveler's real name but he never reintroduced himself as Aether to Paimon, so she kept calling him traveler to this day. This is the first time he acknowledges nobody else but the people present in that reunion knows his name and of those 3 only his sister calls him Aether. Paimon has been set up as the next one to have name privileges since Sumeru. (Next and probably only one considering how strictly private traveler is)

Dain being completely biased and not so reliable in his moral judgments narrator appears once again. I don't think we are supposed to take his word that "sinners are truly evil, did nothing to save the nation" as absolute truth. Because Abyss twin working with one exists. Abys twin that called Dain a traitor and said he did nothing to save khaenriah. If sinners could stop that King but didn't then why a highly motivated Abyss twin is on their side and not on Dain's? edit: spelling mistakes

I don't trust Dain's perspective at all. He's a decent guy, sure, but that's the hallmark of a truly great enemy. He isn't evil. He isn't even _bad_ he just doesn't believe the same thing our sibling, or his five counterparts, do. Until I get absolute proof (so probably end of Teyvat chapter) either way, I'm on our sibling's side, and whatever Dain is doing I don't want any part of helping him.

i left this comment on a few videos after the bedtime story quest came out cause i wanna see what others think.... I wonder if…… aether and lumine’s original home world…… is teyvat? but they just don’t recognize it? their home world was destroyed, but lumine “belongs to THIS world”, and we know the primordial one came and basically destroyed the original teyvat and rewrote it… the twins also wanted to find a place where the flower from their now-destroyed home world grows, and at the end of lumine’s journey through the rewritten teyvat, she found the place, on this “new” world. there are the theories that the new teyvat is a dream, and the “forbidden knowledge” that its denizens cannot understand is that the real teyvat is actually destroyed and they’re now living in a fake dream world. when apep ate deshret and absorbed his knowledge, all she could see was death and destruction and wasteland, as if she was peering outside of the dream and seeing the “truth of the world”, but it was so jarring that she cannot understand and it just causes her pain. the truth breaks down the dream, which causes all the adverse effects we’ve seen in game (withering, eleazar, etc). if i remember correctly, lumine also refused to link up with aether because he has not yet reached the end of his journey and learned the truth that she learned at the end of hers. maybe she hates the heavenly principles and she is determined to fight this war by any means necessary, because at the end of her journey when she found the sea of inteyvats, she realized that this is actually her original home world, but the heavenly principles destroyed it and trapped everyone in a dream/samsara to cover up the truth, and to have control over everyone. so now lumine is determined to fight for her homeland, and is waiting for aether to finish his journey, learn the truth, and understand why she has “taken it this far”, in the hopes that he will see where she’s coming from and join her. I COULD ALSO just be COMPLETELY wrong and missing a bunch of details, but that’s the theory that popped into my head when she mentioned the sea of flowers!!!!!

I'm just hoping The Sinners are the good guys that are only being labeled Sinners because THP doesn't like the fact that they know the truth. I hope Dain helps us save The Sustainer from the grip of THP in the end. It'll just be so damned cliche and boring if the people being labed "bad guys" or "Sinners" were actually that in the end. Please have the plot twist, Hoyo!

I thought their names were revealed to be canonically Aether and Lumine the first time the meet in the chasm. Also, in japanese, Lumine calls Aether "onii chan" (big brother) not Aether, I found that very interesting, but I guess that's just because.... well, japanese just does whatever they want with the game localization. Their names are actually Sora and Hotaru (Sky and Firefly (not sure if it has to do with Hotaru/firefly from HSR)). And they basically changed a lot of names in Liyue. I'm surprised how you didn't mention the statues with broken faces in the domain we enter with dainsleif, I think they mean something... but I'm not sure what, because in that domain, all statues all have their faces broken the same way.. or they are just decoration, who knows. This story quest was mindblowing to me. Maybe from the playable side it's kinda meh, but lore wise it was amazing. And I would probably wouldn't have understood most of the stuff here if I didn't watch your videos. Can't wait for your next theory..

Something I noticed. In the original chinese and japanese versions of the game, Lumine calls Aether "big brother" instead of using his name. Lots of people know his real name in Teyvat. Dainsleif, Paimon, Nahida, Shenhe... so that line doesnt make sense in English

I don't think that the Vinster King is Irmin. That's because Irmin is already one of the 5 sinners: Hroptatyr is just another name for Odin, just like Irmin - here, valueing him being a "Sage", therefore he is "the Wise". Wisdom is what Odin most seeks, and also bringing back the Silver Twig, wich is wildly known that talks about Odin'ts story about seeking unknown knowledge, he is referenced there as "A sage". Therefore, Irmin wasn't just Khaenri'ah's King, he was a Sage King who became one of the Sinners. To add on this, we also can assume that Irmin suddenly disappeared by the Cataclysm - since he is referenced to being MIA, but also never stated to be dead. It really would fit for him to become a Transcendent Being.

To be honest, I'm kinda bothered with the fact that Rhinedottir is called Rhinedottir, and her alias is "Gold". Like, if we go to the opera scenario, what exactly would be her significance? Also, if Rhinemaidens guard the gold, kinda reminded me of Kaeya's riddle about the 3 guardians that guard the treasure (well, the treasure is another riddle) or, it's the Princess' treasure from the Narzissenkreuz quest instead? About the ring that get stolen, Kaeya's hangout in Liyue, about helping Captain Wu, also reminded me of Alberich. Captain Wu's unfortunate tale literally makes me think that it's about Alberich getting humiliated (Like, there are 3 maids in the Dawn Winery too) but actually, why I think that it could be about (Chlothar) Alberich is more on the fact that he has a wife from Mondstat. So like, if we convinced that the one who stole the gold is somehow, Chlothar Alberich (?) Tempted to think that the gold/ring is actually the Abyss sibling, but then there's this Dainsleif's 'ring'.

I think between this quest and Penachony it's becoming possible that Teyvat is actually a dream world created by The Primordial One. Who at this point, I'm starting to think was Nibelung himself - a dragon of light (or the sun) who was hatched from an egg, possessing wings and a crown. Nowhere has it been explicitly suggested that the Primordial One and the "Usurper" mentioned by certain dragons are the same being. Also, I'm SO GLAD you made the connection with the Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies, because I made that exact same connection after he mentioned the five Sinners of Khaen'riah and how he was originally on the same side as them.

If you've followed My Name For Now's videos for a while, or at least paid enough attention to the lore, you might notice that "the heavenly father" so far specifically refers to Nibelung, not the Primordial One. And yet, throughout Teyvat lore, humanity is trying to rebel against "the heavens" at various points in history. Who else would be in the heavens but the heavenly father? Wouldn't Teyvat's lore make SO MUCH MORE SENSE if it turned out that it was humans trying to rebel against a ruling DRAGON of primordial power?

Your assertion is full of assumptions, the main being that you automatically assume that dragons just hate humans and want them dead. In Genshin, dragons are the angels of heaven, and the "Archons" currently ruling Teyvat are all demons. This isn't even part of my suggestion here, this is established fact. I am suggesting that Nibelung was a dragon of light that came to Teyvat. Found seven less-powerful dragons, only ruling single elements, and decided to take over. After conquering them, they submitted to the rule of their dragon king. Dragons being overpowered by an even more powerful dragon and accepting their rule without holding a grudge seems perfectly reasonable, frankly. Then he created humans and created the Human Realm (using his own egg) for humans to dwell in, as they would not be able to survive in the Light Realm and would not be strong enough to fight off the Void Realm. Decreed they live by a specific fate decided by the guides, sending the seelie race (which I suspect were either dragons, or humanoid beings created using dragon's blood, similar to the Fontainians having Primordial Seawater for blood) to guide them as envoys of heaven. At some point in Teyvat history, humans decided they wanted to control their OWN fate and stole power from the heavens to accomplish this. Perhaps like a... Ring of Nibelung... This lead to the throne of the heavens being usurped by a non-dragon, who took over or replaced the systems of fate used by the Primordial One, which was facilitated by empowering certain humans with divinity... and naming them Archons.

Zhongli CANNOT AND HAS NOT a realm of Consciousness. What Zhongli can do is subspace creation. Realm of Consciousness (imaginary, and conceptual at its core) is intirely different from subspace creation like thr Adepti realms and the teapot. Yae Miko teapot lines confirms it.

If anything, Subspaces are more advanced than conventional Domains (Realms of Consciousness), so your point falls flat regardless. Also, Ping says their Sub-space art is just a crude imitation of the Lord of Geo's true might. We also have evidence of Zhongli being able to tear through the Domain of the Fantastic Compass while standing miles away on the surface of the Chasm, it is extremely copium to suggest that he doesn't have a Domain Expansion when he already has several feats which suggest so. Also, his Geo Constructs are half imaginary too...
