Why does the Gabba need updating? It isn’t falling down like the old Football Stadium & Parramatta Stadium. The Hobart venue only holds 20,000 so it won’t return as much from gate receipts. Tubby is just pushing revamping the Gabba because he is worried about getting tickets to the Olympics.

@StuTheDon1727 күн бұрын
There should be 2 x 3 Test series when England and India aren't touring. Last season should have been 3 Tests against Pakistand and 3 more against the Windies.

@@StuTheDon17 Not disagreeing, but the point is that there is no reason when a significant series arises (ie Ashes or India) we couldn't have 6 test series. It is obviously ideal to have an odd number but my point was that it is not unprecedented to have a 6 test series.

IMO Adelaide Oval, MCG and SCG will always have test matches every year as they are the big money venues and every year draw large crowds, the last 2 games will be decided between Perth, Brisbane and Hobart. Perth has an issue with poor attendance record but I also think it should always be at the WACA not Optus Stadium and the Gabba is very out dated compared to all the others majors stadiums in Australia.
@madkent9927 күн бұрын
lol Adelaide. No way

Give Perth the Boxing Day or New Years test and watch it sell out. A lot of people seem to forget that the first 3 tests are played when people are at work and kids are in school. The majority of people don't take annual leave from work a few weeks before they go on the Xmas break. Watch the crowds in the Adelaide day/night tests. The crowds always pick up once school is finished for the day and adults have finished work.....

The MCG stands have been knocked down and rebuilt a few times, much more recently than any Gabba renovation. The same goes for Lords, apart from the members. The SCG rebuilt or is rebuilding all its stands apart from the members and ladies but they are updated inside. At least the Gabba’s curtains haven’t faded as QLD don’t do DLS 😂

@@futuregamer6987 The limited overs format is a bit of a joke in all honesty. If it was the Ashes that'd be a different story. The real fans care about the Tests and the T20 stuff is for the casuals.
