I did freestyle motocross shows for a couple summers with monster trucks and all I can say is you guys hustle your asses off because your always breaking stuff, my level of respect went up 10x when I seen what you go through in a weekend to make sure you give the fans what they paid for and I will be following you guys from now on.

LOL I KNEW I remembered that those engines walked a line between life and death because of the heat. I remember in the old BigFoot 1 days when people said they couldn't stay running in one spot. You moved or shut it off before you overheated/blew something up. Nothing has changed, even though I'm betting on better quality alcohol fuels, Fuel Techs, etc. It was so bad that when I got into watching IHRA/NHRA, the first thing I wondered about was all the times they fired the engines up and how the hell they were keeping them from burning. Then I learned about Nitromethane and how frigging magical it is. Such weird worlds the performance engines walk in. And bye bye Holley because you are many things but you are NOT a Fuel Tech.

I helped Monster Mutt in San Diego last weekend with a FuelTech…went over logs, looked like a crank sensor noise issue…so cool

I can only see one side of the hub dyno.. What!!? Only one wheel? Is it because of the planetary? Rather break one tham two? Makes sense, but no accurate reading. Only one side? Please, someone explain this to me and everyone else asking the same thing. Thosd readings are only one one hub. Inaccurate.

My guess is that they don't really care about the power numbers in thise case, just getting the tune right, so it's not worth risking blowing up a second planetary set for the sake of numbers that are almost completely irrelevant in practice. They even say in the video that they care far more about throttle and rev response than maximum power.

Do you actually think that monster jam will allow the diag time, if there's a problem, with no parts and no time, at a outdoor event in the rain. Contract players will loose thousands of dollars, for not finishing a show. Not sold on this,

4 tesla motors and boom quicker faster Boom no more back and forth on tune. Perfect platform for it. Torque from 0 rpm.

Thats a genius move! then you can set all the D size alkalines inside the tube chassis.

You realize the tesla plaid has 4 electric motors(one at each wheel to give it that power) the drive outputs on those motors would NEVER handle the torque needed to turn those massive tires…even with the gear reductions/planetaries….you can’t just stack 4 motors at each wheel either…because it doesn’t solve the axle/drive issue…you’d have to design your own, albeit much larger, DC motor…. Then figure out to use multiple Tesla batteries(or design your own multicell fast discharge battery)wired in series, through custom boards consisting of transformers, rectifiers, filters, etc…..then develop a software to monitor and control everything….. it wouldn’t take long to be into the millions…..and not be past the drivetrain…. Let alone all the additional components that would need to be custom made to accompany the drive motors(extremely heavy and attached directly to the hub) talk about a suspension nightmare when going with long travel shocks ☠️ unless you had long drives or knuckled couples….but that would an instant weak point and greatly reduce torque output.

Ok, go right ahead and do that.... Lol you will figure out how hard 66" tires are on drivetrain components. I think your forgetting each tire/wheel weighs roughly 1500lbs, and would turn the gears in the drive unit into shredded cheese.
