Best 6 cylinder exhaust note. I had a mk2 gti vr6 in high school. It had a 6 to 1 header, cams, full catless motec exhaust, limited slip diff, coilovers, megasquirt (i was class of '05) insane clutch and a short shifter i had to save for 3 months to buy. I grenaded the stock bottom end when it dropped a valve. Luckily i had a built short block in my bedroom i had literally just finished building. Sent the head out and had it set up for N2o. My senior year i finally was able to afford a good nitrous controller so i put a 2nd solenoid on and sprayed it to a 10.91@131mph. That was at 5300 feet above sea level the DA that day was like 8000+. It was one of the fastest street cars in Reno, Nevada. Then i got a purple '87 foxbody with a 800hp 400ci sbf with 3 kits. That was THE FASTEST street driven car in Reno for like 6 years. Nobody could touch me. Not even the law.

Class of 03 but didn't do my first mk2 swap till 2006. Acquired a 1989 ce2 jetta coupe for 40 dollars with bad engine. Swapped it for obd1 vr6 then swapped another friend who was going the boost route for his Corrado vr tranny. The engine made 180 whp and tq. Not sure how much nitrous you sprayed but had to be atleast 150.

Amazing build! Changing the cam lobes to suit the individual ports in the cylinder head is wild. I don't know if I would consider that a VR6 any longer though. Changing the cam timing to the other side. It's what VW should have done. lol

Its a billet non watercooled block and not built for drag&drive events (yet) because there is nothing like that in Europe except Sweden. Best 1/8mile was 4.52/165mph on a good prepped outlaw track last weekend.
