For audience's knowledge Afghanistan's leader Daud Khan once started a military offensive against Pakistan's tribal belt which Pakistani militias repelled but Pakistan blockaded Afghanistan and sanctioned it economically by stopping trade & transit with landlocked Afghanistan. Daud Khan should never have messed with Pakistan because that's when Afghanistan's woes actually started And Pakistan's ISI got involved in Afghanistan's internal affairs in order to avoid any such threat in future. If he hadn't, Afghanistan might have become a great and powerful country and Pakistan might have materialized its ambition of becoming a super power and making 'Stanistan' a reality.

Irrational evaluation of the existing reality. What Pakistan today is the creation of USA and presently China. If Pakistan think it can get away with Nuclear blackmail, no one can help Pakistan of its complete annihilation. Therefore Pakistsn cannot get into nuclear war. India will never use its nuclear weapon against anyone in the first place. So the conclusion is that there will be no nuclear war in South Asia as the panelist argued for. It is simply bogus claim. China too will not dare to use nuclear weapon against anyone. All these countries may keep it only for their deterrence against others. Now how many nuclear weapon America or Russia have? Both the two Indian origin analysts are wrong in many ways - a) India showed restrained hence the region didn't see nuke war (not because Pak showed restraints - rather Pak has been vocal enough that it will use nukes if there is any attack by India irrespective of the reasons India used), b) India has a 'No First Use' model whereas Pak has a 'First hint of attack' model. So Pak is not contributing to the restraint mechanism. c) Pak army has full control over terror groups. Saying that they don't have any control is wrong and misunderstanding of reality.

Very dumb to think that border disputes can be resolved easily. Problem is with imperialistic and military regimes in that having stability at the line of control is a pipe dream. Arguing for what you want is smart, and yet stupid as it is not the right thing. US lacks political stability which makes it hard for it to play a decent role in the region. Pak has been a rogue nation and the world has a good view of that (for those that care). Unless India can be no better, there is no easy deterrence.

Pakistan has killed almost 90% of Indian & Afghan backed terror on its soil and has one of the safest nuclear program (as per past data) in the world at the moment along with robust intellegence to counter hostile agencies (namely Raw, Cia & Nds). Afghanistan is more likely a new home (post major portion of WoT) to Pakistan India rivalry...and It will continue till the time Afghans dont stand up for Afghanistan rather getting support from US or India. Tensions will remain in the region as long US stays in Afghanistan.
