Nice! $30 doesn't sound too bad, especially now that you know it runs. I'm fixing the Pro mac 6 now. I am really starting to like McCulloch a lot. I would like to get something larger next. Thanks for sharing

Starting those mini macs flat helps a whole lot!

@NothingButChainsaws That makes sense. I really didn't think about that. This was the first time the mini had been started in years

I love old Macs they are absolut bulletproof saws. No fancy stuff no electronics just a simple machine which is build to last. Wish I could get my hands on a 10-10, but them hard to find over here. I will maybe go for a Pro Mac 700 next week 😊

@derrasenmaher9730 these are some of my first McCullochs, and I'm impressed. I will definitely be adding more to the collection. I see a fair amount of 10 10s here in the PNW. But the good ones are getting harder to find. I will definitely be adding a few more McCullochs to the collection. Thank For sharing

@@MAKESHIFTFARMs overall , they're really not that bad to work on, even though you have to pull the motor to do anything

i just picked up a pro mac 10-10 today at an auction for $30 a little more than i wanted to pay but i got it home and got it running pretty easily, i already had a pro mac 10-10 that ran but wouldn't start on its own and bogged down immediately when i tried to cut with it. I've got a power mac 6 and mini mac 1 too.

Around 6:54 when you start that 10-10 up I swear I can see arching between the fins on the head. Might be worth checking out. Unless that's saw dust playing tricks on my eyes. Does seem to run purty good
@sea_saws28 күн бұрын
@cameronknoechel9767 Thanks for pointing that out. I had to watch It quite a few times on Zoom, and I think you're about it being dust. Looks like chips flying out of the fins. Thank again!

I can't stand that make as their modern stuff always got some weak point that always breaks and then struggling to get a replacement

@@darkshaman7087 I haven't had a lot of experience with McCulloch yet. Mostly Homelite and Stihl

@@sea_saws Maybe the old McCulloch's was good and those ones you have on video seems to be better built than the ones of today and going back a few years that was the main make here is the U.K but they had lots of weak points that kept going all the time... I have a few Stihl machines and my little 170 chainsaw I have used it for years and still going great, also that Homelite ain't a bad make, I have recently bought a cheap Parkside make but comes with 3 years guarantee so cant go wrong and it's not a bad saw for £70... Anyway cheers for your video.

@darkshaman7087 So far, my experience with the old ones has been good. I agree with you that some of the modern stuff is lackluster. I have had a few of those. You can't go wrong with ms170. Those are great chainsaws, especially for the price. I have not messed around with much of the off brand stuff yet, but I wouldn't mind giving them a try. Thanks, friend, for sharing. I appreciate it!

@@sea_saws Yes some don't make their machines to last these days and I think they are made for us to spend out on replacement parts to keep us spending out on, I like my little ms170 it's the old model and they were made better back then and lots of the time I have found it's better than using the bigger models... I don't usually use other makes but it's nothing like having a cheap old back up that does the job it's the Parkside brand from lidl but im not sure if they have shops out with you and a German company, also I have the Stihl 130 Kombi it's an awesome handy machine but can be heavy for solid up in the air with the hedge trimmer on it but it's worth the weight... Anyway all the best 👍
