WOW that is in great shape. My Grandfather had a 69, navy blue with blue leather and black top. My grandmother had a 66 LC Convertible, it was light yellow, they were tanks, My grandmother's car was totaled after a tree fell on it.. she was heartbroken.

I always use an outboard boat tank hooked up to the pump inlet the prime it with the hose bulb and use the carbs accelerator to get fuel in the engine with the air cleaner on, if a valve is stuck you might get a face full of flaming gas doing it the way you did. also add some two stroke oil to the fuel to lubricate the motor first tank. really helps. Be safe and keep on having fun with it .

A good thing to do on a car that has been sitting is to drain the coolant and put in straight water to flush the system because the coolant will gum up if the water was evaporated and harden in the water pump thermostat housing and even the radiator it gets real bad so it's a good idea to flush the coolant out a few times after it's been hot just to get all the anti freeze out because that stuff does not evaporate it just sits and hardens and plugs everything up
