I remember this BSA from ads in motorcycle magazines when I was in Junior High School. The oil in frame was an improvement, but it still could keep up with the more powerful Japanese two strokes of the time. That said, it's still a lovely thumper.

@@TheWurks A Bultaco Sherpa was one- the bike I passed my test on despite the Examiner resembling the actor Allan Cuthbertson ( Colnel Hall in Fawlty Towers) . I also had a Greeves with a Villiers Starmaker engine ( 32T was the engine code I think ) . Husqvarna, and an assortment of small 2 strokes. The BSA with a B50 engine was the one I wanted. Unfortunately Green Laning is almost dead as most of the routes have signs saying No Motorcycles. I cycle now and always try to chat with the brave riders who ignore those signs

Anyone, what's a good solution to use in an ultra sonic cleaner for carb bits ?

There are specific carburettor tailored products hover for me, i give them a dousing with carb cleaner to get the debris off, rinse with hot water. Then use a waterbased general purpose degreaser diluted… two passes at 55degC. Wash thoroughly with clean water and then dry it with an air line.
