If the starter works via a foot contact you are trying to pull full starter current through a device that is designed to carry starter solenoid coil current. Can't see your system but it looks like there is no starter solenoid in this system. The "solenoid" is your foot pushing down the clutch pedal. Again, your remote start switch is only designed to carry starter solenoid COIL current, the coil that creates the electromagnetic field that pulls the contacts together inside the solenoid. That coil pulls a tiny fraction of starter motor current.

@@akawireguy1197 good to know. Thanks for the tip! I'm not used to working on anything this old so it's been a learning experience. Glad I have people I can count on to help. Thanks for watching

My 57 3/4 ton just got a rebuilt engine and is ready to last me until I can't drive anymore. What I like about mine is it is 12volt, 4 speed, 1 ton brakes and uses modern 8 bolt wheels! Good luck on your great truck! It was bought by the Bell Telephone Company in Portland and ended up in Baker where I bought it. The phone company ordered these trucks with unique features, 17" wheels, and no beds.

That's awesome. I love hearing the back story of a vehicle. Do you know of a resource I could use to find the history of my truck?
