I just went through a period of not being able to throw 400 feet... techdisc said my speed dropped from 70 mph max to barely cracking 62. I needed to take time off because I overtrained my hip rotators. Now i have to fix my form which broke trying to play through the pain... Slowly coming back. REST IS IMPORTANT, PEOPLE!

Love to hear you talking in depth about this and showing the form changes and explaining the mentality behind it. Gotta name it to tame it! Cinematic perfection! 👌

Incredible content. Viewers appreciate you taking the time to make change, and personally i enjoy watching the progress or even back track it takes. We all can related to 2 steps forward 1 step back. Things will click. I did not know that about your knee, that would make sense why you want to throw on hyzer and stay in athletic position for controlling that.

Changing the bag makes sense when your in form change if you don’t want too get into the same patterns, because ususally the first couple of games during form change i really really suck, like worst game in a while, and it gradually co es together

That makes sense... New bag with new form to get rid of preconceived notions of how the disc "should" fly and not being disappointed when it doesn't do what you KNOW it can.

Watching your videos helps me to visualize approach shots… I would love to have Chris Shotwell clean form, but, sometimes I just need to know how to throw my midranges and putters better, since you do well with those from reasonable distance, I can think about how my shot may go since you throw a good mixture of mids and putters. You also have good coverage of your landing spots, not everyone has that. Keep up the cinemas.

I'm presently making the same form change, but in reverse. I've always thrown flat to anhyzer with very little flippy anything in my bag, to now forcing myself to throw hyzer flips for as many shots in a round as possible. Love your videos dude, keep it up!

Long time sub, first time commentor (LOL). Something that's helped me with my form is my plant leg needs to be bent slightly with a slow controlled plant. "Find" the ground with your big toe slightly acute, then let your foot roll onto the ball of your foot and then your heel keeping your knee slightly bent. As soon as your heel hits flat... pop up on your plant heel, letting your toes come up. It will shoot your toes towards the basket and open your hips at the right time... with practice. "Finding" the ground seems to help as it prevents me from falling into my throw as I can feel the weight transfer gradually instead of all at once. Hope this helps someone! :D And remember, just breathe.

I am going to try this! I just started playing this last April and I have to work on my rotation. If I am thinking about it I feel like I am always planting and rotating flat on my right foot making it feel like there is a ton of resistance. Doesnt help that I also ruptured my right patella tendon so what Brod saying about the body wanting to protect itself, sometimes my body is just like "nope, we not doing that" xD

@@sylvestercampbell2095 Thats amazing! One thing that really helped my pull through is trying to keep my hips neutral during my X step and focus on only rotating your upper back/shoulders. Your hips will rotate slightly, just try to keep them perpendicular to your target the best you can until you actually transfer weight and pivot. And just a tip for "feeling the ground". Imagine you are on ice skates and using your plant foot to "hockey stop". If that is difficult to feel, try rotating your planting leg's hip inwards just a bit to let the bottom of your foot flash (show) towards your line. For this to feel fluid, remember your energy should be moving forward. So try to keep your center of balance moving forward, not bouncing up and down. Keeping your back leg bent so that your hips remain level is important here. Sorry, working on form is a never-ending process with cascading effects lol. Just throwing out a couple pointers that helped me too!

Brod, I'm no teacher or coach but it's obvious to me that your plant foot gets stuck once you plant it. I also think you should work on one thing at a time. If it were me, i would do drills then stand stills working only on plant foot rotation. If it were me that's what I'd do. Idk love the vids my dude

Nice vids in this series brod, qualty cinema. Prodigy claims all of my flippy slots, pa5 f5 h7. Just nabbed an old used bin buzzzSS with only 'buzzz' rim embossing but 'buzzzSS' flight plate embossing. How old is this thing?

You started out feeling the lag and the closed hip because you were “over exaggerating it” and as you continue on you start to speed up which is that early leak for the good coil and closed front you literally need to sloww your upper half down the feet need time. I think coil and reach back slow and when your feet are done the rest of you will come but thinking explode late not from full reach back through because you’ll run out of pop by the time your hit point comes also the early leak because essentially you’ll be holding the disc a little longer than your used that kind of hunched hit point was you utilizing your core which still needs to happen just in a little different posture I found a good couple late yanks will help your body realize it’s gotta wait a bit and find that middle ground. much easier said than done

Brod, no need to switch up the discs just cuz your throwing more flat/anhyzer now. Throwing with anhyzer is natural for me and I bag many of the same discs. I bag your MF ultra and that thing loves anhyzer, holds it and flexes out slowly every time. Buzzz, buzzz ss, thunderbird, firebird, and destroyers all handle anhyzer very well.

Why do you have to tune your form in between a flat and hyzer release? Why not just adjust the form to the shot shape required… relative to flight characteristics of the disc you chose

Bro ur just thinking too much into it maby, ur flat “new” form doesn’t look bad at all n the results speak for themselves I think since ur posture is so much different than ur stock form it “feels” so much different to you 🤷🏼‍♂️🤘

I don’t think you understand the reposition lie rule, since you if you do, you have to take a penalty stroke and must be behind (or farther) from your initial lie

no. changing your discs will not help change your form. discs dont matter. literally. your form is your form, does not matter what discs you are throwing. just like changing discs wont make you a better golfer.

I disagree, if you traditionally throw hyzer flips and bag flippy/beat in discs and you want to learn to throw flat then getting discs in different stabilities would probably be pretty helpful.
