Modern atomic bombs do much more than just shit. Russia's new bomb has a blast radius as large as Texas. And the problem is that we have so many. You say 300 won't end life (will influence it a lot) but we have tens of thousands of bombs. Which if they don't end lofe directly, will make it end anyway The nuclear winter that will not allow anything to survive. Perhaps some underground animals, but that's it.
