The reason it's called Heaven in the first place is because it's everything and anything that fulfills all desires pleasures as well as the number one which is love. Without all those things I mentioned , you just went into another Realm of existence and haven't earned your way there. Earth is a school. You need to learn your lessons, experience pain and misery so that you'll understand what makes Heaven so perfect in the first place.

I know, the "better than sex" thing has been going around for a long time. I remember it eons ago. It was the chapter title of the first book I read about "Matthew 22:30". If something really is better than sex, it has to compare to it in some way. You can't say that something is "better" than something else if they are two totally different things. If I say a Jaguar is better than a Porch, you can agree or disagree but it makes sense. If I say a dog is better than an orange peel people would look at me like a nut. If something in heaven really _is better than_ sex, then it is a _form of_ sex.

Even if sexual intercourse were retained and made better, it can never be as good as the marriage to Jesus because the marriage to Jesus is the real thing, so it would make no sense to retain and improve sexual intercourse in its own form. Temples, tabernacles, and animal sacrifices were symbols of Jesus and his sacrifice. They are no longer needed because Jesus has died, rose again, and will be in heaven. No matter how much better you design a temple, it can never take the place of Jesus who is what the temple represents, so it makes no sense to have temples in heaven. Food and wine will be retained and made new in heaven because they were never created as symbols. From the start, they were pleasures of their own category, so they can be retained and made better in heaven. Non-sexual love will still exist in heaven and be better because non-sexual love is not a symbol of anything. It is it's own category. Childbearing will be gotten rid of because we will receive a name better than sons and daughters and everyone will be a family in Jesus. There is no need to have a physical offspring because there is no need to reproduce to retain your lineage since you will live for eternity and because the pleasure of familial relationships are the non-physical components of it. People by means of adoption can become family members while genetically related people can become distant. What determines how familial you are with someone is how close you are to them and not necessarily how genetically related you are.

Having listened to this video, I feel compelled to say a few things that I believe are important. Whether or not there will be sexual intimacy in God's paradise, is entirely up to Him - and has already been decided by Him. Only He knows what is best for us and what will make us happiest. If our heavenly Father has ordained that sexual intimacy as we have known it in this life not exist in the next, then out of love for us, He will replace it with something far better than we could ever imagine. Personally I can't imagine what that something will be and that is due to my own limited intellect and fallen nature. We simply have to trust Him. Having been freed from our sin nature once we've passed from this life, we will have the ability to cheerfully accept whatever that something else is. Conversely, if our heavenly Father has ordained that there will be sexual intimacy in His paradise then it will be a purified intimacy, divested of all the misuses and abuses we have tarnished it with in this life - and how we have tarnished it. I'll go one step further. If our heavenly Father has even ordained that conception, pregnancy, and the birth of children will also be part of His paradise then we can be sure that He has already made greatly enhanced provision for that eventuality. So whatever our heavenly Father has planned for us hereafter is indeed beyond our comprehension in all its beauty and wonder. And please, for those of you who are inclined to be a bit militant with your views try to have some sensitivity and remember the words of Gen. Creighton Abrams, "No sense in using a sledgehammer when a thumbtack will do."

I really loved what you said, Drew. My counselor has told me things very similar to this post you posted. I believe when the time comes that I get married and go through the first night with my wife I will realize that the intimacy is a small thing and my parents have told me it seems big but really isn't that big once I do it. But yeah since I have matured over the past few years I do agree with what you said. God will determine what He will establish for Heaven and the New Earth. I read the Heaven book by Randy Alcorn and he mentioned that the intimacy people have in marriage might be fulfilled to some higher form and since it was designed by God, Randy doesn't see how God could discard it. So it'll just be a mystery til we enter Heaven and the New Earth. It is fine to have our opinions on this question but when we leave this world, that'll be when we will have the question answered. I can understand that. Apparently some/many Christians believe that in Heaven there will be no children, that we will all be adults. I can relate to people who don’t like that idea and hope that there will children in Heaven / New Earth and not just adults. For me, everyone having child-like qualities in Heaven even though we are physically adults (as Randy Alcorn speculates somewhere in his book Heaven), as nice as that may be, can’t replace the presence of actual children laughing and playing around and, well, being children. Fortunately, I don’t think Christ’s words to the Sadduccees in Matthew 22 necessarily rule out the possibility of being able to raise children in Heaven / the New Earth, because perhaps Jesus was just talking about Levirate marriages, as some have pointed out in the comments. Even if He meant that there would be no more marriage in general, and therefore, no sexual relations, perhaps there will be ways other than sexual reproduction through which children can be created. People who insist that there will be no sexual relations in Heaven often say that something much better will replace them. Could it be possible that whatever that “something better” is be another way through which babies are created?

This is largely incorrect, and only partially true. The sentence from Jesus, regarding, "they shall no longer be married, or given in marriage", He spoke of earthly conventions no longer being needed, in Heaven, In Heaven, we will no longer need a Contract, for being with our spouse, because that was designed for a fallen world. In Heaven, there will no longer be a need, for a contract. We WILL BE with our Spouses, or we will find our true human love, in Heaven, and all be "married" to Christ, together. Besides which, this was also a parable, to highlight a different story all together, and should not be taken out of context, but I don't need to go into that aspect. I have studied and researched this in Theology, for over 15 years. I know this truth. We will also still have sex, as will all the animals, in Heaven, too. I know that I know this. And remember, Adam and Eve, were not "married", in the contract sense, either, they were joined in a heavenly way, by God---it wasn't called "marriage".

I have a question for all you no marriage in heaven types. What do you say to people who missed out? I'm not saying that's necessarily me, as I missed out on some things but did eventually get to experience marriage and family. But I, unlike some of you, feel for the people who DID miss out, didn't find a love partner, or didn't have children, or got married at 65, or whatever. What is their healing in heaven? In heaven, the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, but what about those people? What is their consolation for missing out on a core fundamental human experience? They're healed of whatever impaired their ability to find love on earth, but put in a place where there is no more "love" the way they seek it. Isn't that kind of like putting a healed blind man in a pitch black room and saying, "You can see now"?

Doctrines like that makes you wonder if it would be beneficial to kill your infants before they reach the age of accountability. I mean, why would you let the child grow up, when it's like 98% probable that he or she will go to hell? If he or she will automatically go to Heaven if they die before they get the chance to grow up, then why would anyone do such an evil deed as to risk eternal hellfire for that soul by letting him or her grow up? Because when the rapture happens, the children will automatically go as you know, but then the child would suddendly have to live without their father or mother in Heaven. So you could say that having a child now would be selfish. Also, you could say that it's incredibly stupid of me not to just go and marry like a cheap hooker or whatever asap. Because if there is no sex and romance in Heaven, then It puts a lot of people under time pressure. That's probably one of the reasons why priests have raped other people etc. You can tell those people who say that everybody will love everybody the same, that if that's the case, then he or she should have no problem with swapping anything with you. Ask them if you may borrow their house and their car for a month. Or if you may go on a holiday with that person's wife. Should be no problem at all, right? If they object, then they're hypocrites obviously. So ask them if you may go and swim in their pool for a week, and sleep in their bed. Also, the next time you go to a dinner party, you should ask one of the women there if she can give you all of her most beautiful dresses, and all of her make-up, so you can burn it all up, because as you know, people won't be sexually attracted to anyone in Heaven, according to them, so they certainly don't need to enhance their beauty. In fact, mess up her hair or something while she's not watching. Spill some wine on her dress. Call her brother. Go for the fist bump. Exactly! Read Women in the Ministry of Jesus by Ben Werthington. Jesus said the children of the resurrection will not "marry or be given in marriage". Given in marriage means to have a marriage arranged, not to be married. He is using marriage as a verb, not a noun. Marriages won't be _performed_ in Heaven. He is also answering a question about Leverite marriage, a form of marriage that doesn't even exist today, let alone in God's kingdom. That is the "marriage" that resurrected saints won't experience. People have twisted these verses so far out of proportion that it's pathetic.

"Bride of Christ" is not a literal term, yet it is used to assert that Jesus meant literally that human beings in their resurrected state won't experience intimate bonding with individual, opposite-gendered partners. People who argue this think that being celibate, genderless, asexual beings in a static heaven is more conducive to human happiness than the marriage and family life God ordained in Genesis for our growth and joy. They teach that our "glorified" resurrected body will be less capable than our body on earth because it will not have the capability to procreate or bond with an individual love partner. Some people do see the fun in funeral: the funeral of sexual passion. In Luke 20:36 Jesus states one of the reasons for not marrying and being given in marriage is because the righteous resurrected can’t die anymore but will be like the angels in heaven. God creating sexual relationships before humans sinned and could die contradicts death being a condition for marriage and sex. Only legal customs of marriage were invented after humanity sinned, so thats all Jesus could be refering to. The original Greek in the account with the sadducees for marry and given in marriage meant the male proposer paying a fee to the womans dad and the woman being given to the man respectively, because she didn’t get a choice. This was not needed with the first couple, Adam and Eve, so says nothing about the actual married state. There is no correlation with legal customs and sexual love relationships there. Would any of the people who heard Jesus answer been amazed at it if he meant sexual feelings and relationships would be eliminated? I’m pretty sure Jews had as much sexual desire as most other people, so would have felt despair if that was the context. It says in the bible that the law was necessary because of sin, and marriage for any traditional, political or legal reason is no more lawful to divorce from than for reason of being in love. Relationships were not the point, only the law. At the beginning God said for us to be fruitful and multiply, with no indication it was to ever stop. He created marriage and sexual passion for spouses and being alone was the one thing God said during the creation account that is not good and made Eve to complete humanity with both genders, so he couldn’t have simply meant it’s not good to be without other humans for friendship. It was specifically about a committed sexual relationship. He then said that is the reason a person will leave their parents and be united with a spouse and the two will become one flesh. God can't change his mind about the ideal state for males and females if he is the same forever. If simply being more aware of God's presence and love makes marriage unnecessary, then God would have had no reason to create gender and sex to fulfil a different kind of intimate desire to begin with, because God and Adam had exactly that kind of relationship we'll have with him in the renewed creation, before Eve was made. We are made in Gods image and gender is part of our design. If simply being part of God's image is all the justification needed to have gender, then the external features that distinguish genders to attract each other sexually, and the hormones and parts used for sexual pleasure and reproduction would all be wasted. That’s all part of what makes us the genders we are and God doesn’t create anything to not be used. The human female figure is shaped the way it is to fit babies during birth. keeping a libido is justified. Angels did have sex and marry as written in genesis 6:1-2, but Jesus said the heirs of eternal life would be like the angels in heaven, where the angels who reproduced were not. But sons of God only ever refers to righteous angels, so if the sons of God were attracted to human women before they left heaven to marry them, and the heirs of eternal life will be like them, he's not teaching that sexual desire will be eliminated forever. Jesus appeals to the conditions at the beginning of creation for why divorce is not acceptible to him in Matthew 19:4-6 and 8, so the initial conditions are God's ideal. It's not irrelevant to him how he originally made everything. If people interpret Jesus answer to the sadducees as claiming no one will be married anymore, then we can't be married to Jesus after the last resurrection either. The description is given of God as a husband to his people in parts of the old testament, like Hosea, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. That wasn't meant to sever marriages of male and female couples anymore than being described as Jesus bride is in Revelation. Marriage of male and female couples and sexual passion is the most joyful and pleasurable of God's creation, yet so many Christians have claimed that that's the only thing he will not restore, but we get to keep food which is bland by comparison. The ideal of eternal paradise for Christians who are prudes is hell to most other people, including other Christians. Just because some people manage to not care if they can continue having a sinless sexually intimate relationship with someone for eternity, doesn't make it fair to teach that those who do much prefer to keep feelings of sexual attraction and being in love with someone, what many people love most about our existence, should somehow not care. Whether most Christians have believed that there being no dissapointments in the new creation means the saved wont care about things God made for joy and pleasure if any of them are eliminated, doesn’t make it correct. It’s a delusional interpretation that tries to claim loving something passionately that God made but not caring about it anyway because of what the saved will experience is somehow not a manipulation of free will. Heaven isn’t the final destination, it’s the renewed earth. The only thing that needs elimination is what sin did.

I made this point in a response to a post, but I'm going to say it here because I think these are valid points that everybody misses. First of all, the Bible never says there is no sex in Heaven. I challenge anyone to find the verse that says that explicitly. Jesus did say there is no _marriage_ to _individuals_ in Heaven, in response to the Sadduccees question about seven brothers for one bride. People surmise that there is no sex because there is "no marriage", and marriage outside of sex is sin, and there is no sin in Heaven, so there is no sex. But understand that this is all based on human logic and deduction, none of it it spelled out in the Bible. The Bible also tells us to "lean not upon our own understanding". Secondly, the Sadduccees had no interest in learning about marriage in Heaven. Their question was a trick question designed to trip Jesus up and disprove the resurrection. Their logic was like this. At that time of Christ, part of the marriage contract was an agreement to marry another family member if your husband dies without bearing children. In the Sadduccees story to Jesus, all seven brothers died without bearing children, so the woman's marriage to the next brother was compulsory, it was required by law. The trap the Sadduccees laid was the law of Moses required the woman to marry multiple men, but the same law forbade her from being married to multiple men while they're still living. If there was a resurrection, she couldn't help but break the law of Moses, and to the Sadduccees this implied that the very idea of a resurrection was contrary to scripture so it was not possible. So that verse is really about proving the resurrection and has nothing to do with marriage in Heaven _per sé_. Jesus was saying that the marriage contract to be with individual partners by law will go away *because we will no longer die*, which is *not* the same as saying we will no longer have love partners. If being in the presence of God is so glorious by itself that we no longer need relationships with one another, then why did God give Adam a helpmate? God said, "it is not good that a man be alone, I will make for him a helpmate" in the Garden of Eden *while Adam walked with God*. He created Eve for Adam and said "it is *very* good", *before* there was sin. This, to me, suggests that this relationship will not be abolished in Heaven. Also, the quote from C.S. Lewis that everybody loves to cite, about a child wanting chocolate, is a flawed analogy. We do, in fact, continue to enjoy chocolate as adults when we're in married/sexual relationships, so one does not preclude the other. In fact, chocolate is one of the main gifts given on Valentine's day to *celebrate* our love for our romantic partners.

Mark 10:10-12 shows Jesus's teaching on remarriage after divorce: "Then in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter. He said to them, " Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery." " He had previously been answering the Pharisees about what was going on under Moses in verses 2 to 9. He told them there that because of their hardness of heart Moses wrote that commandment for them, allowing divorce, but God did not intend for that from the beginning. Other cultures still have polygamy. I don't know how one man can afford all those wives and children especially if they live in countries where girls aren't allowed an education and go to work for equal pay. If the husband dies that's a huge amount of hungry young ones and women. So glad Jesus came and set things straight. Its not about sex, its about love.

It doesnt make sense that we will enjoy all of the other joys of having a physical body in heaven like eating, drinking, running, singing, playing, music, building a house. But not sex? You do not need to eat but you will be able to enjoy food. It follows that you wont need to procreate but you will be able to enjoy sex. People say, 'you wont need sex in heaven because there will be better things' ok cool. But we dont need food in heaven either yet we will still enjoy eating according to the bible. If you dont need to eat yet you can enjoy food, it follows that you wont need sex or marriage but you can enjoy it if you like. Otherwise there is absolutely no point of keeping the gender of physical bodies in heaven, and christ was definitely still a man. He wasnt castrated or homogenised into a hermaphrodite. Women will exist in heaven in their feminine bodies and they will be beautiful, i suspect that the joy of companionship with each other through god will be more intimate and joyful than sex. But just as god doesnt deny us the physical joy of eating and dancing in heaven, even though we dont need it to sustain ourselves, i doubt he will deny the physcial joy of sex in heaven, even though we wont need it. It is frankly not biblical to say there is no sex in new Jerusalem. I think we will enjoy all of the pleasures of a physical body but also all of the unknowable but greater pleasure of being reconnected to the tree of life.

The MAIN Reason why religious leaders fall to immorality. Its not just because of this (James 1:14) but because of this (Matthew 22:30) This may come a bit strange to most, but I browsed all over the net and I found out one of the MAIN (among the many) reasons why some, if not most people, including Believers are involved in immorality and sexual scandals BECAUSE of the belief that there is "NO sex" (procreation) in Heaven (more accurately: The Resurrection). So then (they reason to themselves) "if you can't get to enjoy that kind of pleasure in the Afterlife why not do it here even if its risky? Right?" Now I know they don't speak it outright, but their ACTIONS tell plainly what their MINDS believe. Its similar to our former belief as Catholics that in Heaven OR at the World to Come no one gets thirsty or hungry and then right off the bat, we say that no one eats OR drinks in Heaven, (so we eat like gluttons here)---which is not the case, because men ALSO ate the Bread of Angels, once, Manna as they call it or ("what is this?" Psalms 78:25) during the time of Moses. This also reminds Me of the belief My countrymen has, that "in Heaven there is no beer" so they get drunk as if there's no tomorrow, here. Wrong. In the World to Come there will be FEASTING, not just food and drinks but a Great Banquet. READ IT. On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a FEAST of RICH food for all peoples, a BANQUET of aged WINE-- the best of MEATS and the FINEST of WINES. (Isaiah 25:6) This is one of the reasons why The Son of Man talked often about A Wedding Feast (which is His) in one of His parables. (Matthew 22:2) Now what Feast is there WITHOUT Food, Drinks and A GREAT Celebration? Yes, their is something BETTER than Beer in Heaven and its called WINE. And while its true that there are no marriages in The Resurrection, (Matthew 22:30) because believers are married to יהוה and To The Lamb (Hosea 2:19 & Revelations 19:6-9) I believe that there will still be sex and procreation in The New Heavens and New Earth, BASED on The Scripture and NOT on man's erroneous and malicious understanding of sex on earth, and this is clearly stated on Isaiah 65:23. They shall not labor in vain or BEAR CHILDREN for calamity, (obviously not happening in a fallen world we see today) for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the LORD, (יהוה) and their descendants WITH them. Question, WHEN will these things be? The preceding text on Isaiah 65:17 gives us the answer: At the NEW Heavens and the NEW Earth. GOD seeks "godly offspring" (Malachi 2:15) and WE, His Spiritual Bride, who are MARRIED to Him, (Hosea 2:19 & Revelations 19:6-9) will bring forth those "godly offspring" for Him in The World to Come, at The REGENERATION (Matthew 19:28) and the RESTORATION of ALL things. (Acts 3:21 & Isaiah 65:17) THIS is what יהוה told Me, BASED on The Scripture. So don't worry, married couples, your marriage on Earth to your spouse won't be severed in Heaven and as for the eunuchs and singles I say in the Name of יהוה, be not discouraged or be tempted to commit immorality on Earth, (just because of that erroneous belief) you'll get A Better Chance in the World to Come, (where EVERYTHING is PERFECT, no quarrelsome spouses, no stubborn children, with you and your partner staying forever youthful, etc) because sex and procreation was designed by GOD Almighty BEFORE the Fall of Man, NOT after it. (Genesis 1:28) Control your urges. You are NOT deprived by יהוה who gives us ALL things to enjoy. (1 Timothy 6:17) Blessed be His Name forever. Honestly it's something that isn't really addressed in the Bible explicitly, from what I know there are interpretations on certain verses talking about sex/procreation. But it's something I desire so bad, I value the thought of having a beautiful woman and children in eternity far more than any material riches or eating or doing whatever else in paradise. I'm just like that, the fact that even saved Christians around my age (19) are so easy to accept the probability that there won't be sex in heaven just shows that this isn't "lust", these are genuine God given desires. I don't have desires to rail multiple women like they're nothing- I simply desire what I can't have, and it's something pure- a beautiful wife and children. I can't have it on this earth for multiple reasons really. And I certainly don't wanna bring life into this world because of how screwed up it is and there is an extremely high probability my kids will be influenced by the world no matter how I raise them. However I do believe the rapture is soon. How soon idk But yeah bro I believe God hears our prayers, he sees our discouragement, he understands our frustration and sees how outspoken we are. I hope so. All I want is a beautiful wife and beautiful children in Heaven (in this case she wouldn't be my wife because no marriage but the same relationship) and to be fruitful and multiply for all eternity. I honestly couldn't give a toss about gold, silver and precious stone (heavenly rewards) or jumping up on clouds or flying through space or sports or food or whatnot. It's not that I'm throwing all the Lord has for me back in his face, absolutely not, it's by God's grace and mercy he's letting a sinner like me even breathe right now, it's just I feel so discouraged when people tell me there won't be any perfect companionship in heaven. Imagine how perfect it would be in heaven to have a wife and kids? God made us individuals, we all have unique God given desires, so why would I have these desires instiled in me if God won't fulfill them? I just get depressed seeing really beautiful women, knowing I won't be able to experience love or intimacy or procreate with her. Even though I agree with the conclusion, I believe the argumentation in this video is not very well founded. Jesus, while a gardener, could not have had shown up in his glorified body to Mary Magdalene. A glorified body is strange to the human eye. Mary would have assumed Jesus was angel, not a regular person, if she had seen him in his glorified body which is described in the Bible as a body with shiny everything, bronze feet, fire in his eyes etc. He appeared in his resurrected body to the disciples in the Upper Room. The Bible says , "But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit." So the idea of Jesus having a penis in his glorified body is quite flawed. Another flawed idea is that just because God gave sex on earth that its utility is eternal. We live in a decayed world in corrupt bodies. We also defecate in this earth. Does that mean we'll need bathrooms in heaven? This logic doesn't proceed. All points made, even though beautiful, need stronger biblical backing, else it's just a perspective, an opinion to the ones who hear it and know the Word. Also, please study Leviathan a bit harder, guys. Leviathan is not a play buddy. Here's the reason why sex will exist in heaven: Because it's God's first command to humanity before sin affected our nature: be fruitful and MULTIPLY. God's intention from the beginning was to fill a pure and perfect earth with pure and perfect human beings. Since we'll dwell forever in a new Earth, we're going back to God's original desire for humanity before Adam fell. In a perfect world, when God did the pairing, no law was needed. Adam and Eve were made to be man and wife while they were in an immortal state intended to be forever without death, and they experienced sexual passion and desire before the fall into sin. There is no reason to think that sexual attraction will be absent from heaven. This divinely created need for companionship and relationship was part of the original creation to which the new creation returns. If we are to be raised bodily, and if we are going to do without sex in the resurrection, what is the point in having sexed, differentiated, sexual organs? In Matt 19:22 when the young ruler asked how to have eternal life and Jesus told him to sell his belongings since he was keeping the commandments ( side note this verse isn't teaching works salvation it's actually, like the law showing that a person will always miss the mark and can never do enough and instead teaches to depend and put faith in Christ) notice the ruler went away sorrowful. Jesus cannot allow marriage between men and women in heaven and the desire and ability for it because he designed marriage between one man and one woman and in heaven, we will be married to Jesus instead, where he is the man and the believers are the woman. If he allowed men and women to continue to marry each other, then that would be marrying more than one person. No marriage in heaven means no sexual intercourse because by definition, marriage is sexual intercourse, which is why he said people who are eunuchs cannot marry. Eunuchs cannot have sexual intercourse, so if they cannot marry, this means sexual intercourse and marriage are tied together. It is also why dietary pleasures of eating fruit and drinking wine will be made new while retaining their forms as physical pleasure to the palate, but physical sexual intercourse is gotten rid of and replaced by non-sexual pleasures made to be better rather than being made better itself. This is why he also has to replace reproduction with a name better than sons and daughters because without sexual intercourse, there is no reproduction. So sexual intercourse, reproduction, and the desire and ability for them will be gone and replaced by other desires and pleasures made to be greater rather than these being retained and made greater in and of themselves.

The people who say these things are false teachers and carnal Christians. Isaiah 56:4-5 - God tells eunuchs that they will receive a name better than sons and daughters in his house. If you believe what they say, you are practicing and loving falsehood. Hell is the destination for all of these people. Revelation 14:11 - Hell is eternal torment. Here's the answer. You have to reason it out for yourself, because a lot of speculation revolves around this. Remember that the Old Testament (Genesis 6:4) says that the sons of God found human females (the daughters of Adam) to be beautiful, married any one they wanted, had sex with them and the human females produced offspring (which have been referred to as Nephilim). That means a) the sons of God were able to have sex; b) they had the equipment and physiological ability to enter, ejaculate and impregnate human females; and c) the sons of God produced offspring through these sexual liaisons with human females. If this is so, then heavenly beings must be capable of having sex, must have the proper number of chromosomes to match up and produce offspring. There won't be a need in heaven to reproduce, but the act of sex was one of the best inventions God ever came up with and apparently (if we can believe Genesis 6:4) we will still have the capability for sex in heaven. God invented sex, so why would He deny it to us when we get to heaven (a perfect place)?

Think about your daily life, and ask yourself how many things you do day to day that are really "needed"? Do you put a flower arrangement at the center of your dinner table while eating? I also want to address something else, because a lot of people bring up the subject of "need". There's no "need" in Heaven for procreation. We do and enjoy many things for which there is no need. We put flowers on dinner tables, hang pictures, put up Christmas trees during the holidays, and on and on. What a boring life it would be if we only did or had what was "needed". Unfortunately, many people in the church have a sacrificial mentality and believe God is only a God of need. Things you enjoy or that bring you happiness don't count. Others will be reunited with their former spouses etc, so to me the whole reunion thing is just provocative. Like, keep it real. I have hardly known anybody on a deep level in my life. I don't want to sit next to anybody I know during the wedding supper of the lamb, cause again, it's provocative to me that many others will be sitting together with their spouses, while I have to sit next to some ancient family member that I don't even know? Have I suffered this much only to have my crecendo be some sort of uncomfortable and dull interaction with a couple of ancient family members during the wedding supper? I would rather sit alone, if I can't sit next to girls. I also have interests of a true loner. I like to make music, and I need to be alone for that. I won't be living a normal life in Heaven like the rest, I have experienced way too many inhuman things in my life for that. I'm not normal. So my friendships with other people will be something completely different than the norm, cause that's who I've become after years of loneliness and isolation.

Love and intimacy, while central to sex, are only partial components of what sex offers us. Sitting around chewing the fat with Jesus will be amazing, but it will in no way even come close to fulfilling all of the things that sex provided to us in our lives. It's like saying "there will be no competitive sports in heaven, but you'll get free steak dinners." Apples and oranges. It is going to be unimaginably horrible for all eternity. I am beyond terrified of heaven. Heaven is hell with air conditioning and worse music. I want nothing more than to simply cease to be when I die, because heaven is going to be unbearable and inescapable. But God doesn't give us that option, only eternal suffering in hell or eternal suffering in heaven.

I too am like others who are still puzzled by the scripture and feel saddened to think about not having a wife or intimate love in the next life as others who have also commented, however I do want to give an idea: so Jesus was saying (in Matt. 22:30) "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven." You could possibly argue that he's ONLY talking about marriage not happening or existing *at the resurrection, but not necessarily never* in the new earth or in heaven. Maybe because at the resurrection is when believers will be busy beginning their work in helping Jesus set up his Kingdom after the tribulation, I really don't know, just an idea. Perhaps once the new earth is ushered in there will be continued unions and intimacy. But then the other part that would nullify this idea is that, to begin with, the Pharisees were asking him if a woman was married to seven men and they all died, which one would be her final husband in the next life. Jesus' answer pretty much does seem to imply that at that point it doesn't matter because all believers will be like the angels without any intercourse or need for it. As sad as it does seem from a fleshly perspective I do think he probably meant the latter idea, and we just have to wait and see what everything will be like when he comes back. Peace be to all.

If Jesus meant the latter, then what do you do with verse 33, which says that the crowds were amazed when they heard Christ's teaching? Well, "amazed" isn't the first choice of a word I'd use to describe that feeling of sadness. So if Jesus actually was teaching in verse 30 that marriage, and thus sex and procreation and raising kids, would not exist in the new creation in the eternal state, wouldn't at least some of the people in that crowd have likewise been saddened? Last I checked, Matthew 22 never mentions anything like that.

Many of them can even be bad or terrible. I imagine the crowds who heard Jesus say that were awe-struck simply because they'd never heard such an idea before, and were 'amazed' at what the next life must be like if they're hearing him say there's no marriage in it. And yeah, there were probably quite a few people in that crowd who were saddened by it too. Again, it saddens me also but I try not to think about it too much and try to just trust whatever God's plan is for "better than sex."

Thinking about sex in heaven may be just what Christians need to love passionately and well here on Earth. it could be so should inspire Christians in this world to make pursuing virtuous and pleasurable sex a priority. If sex is so central to who humans are as embodied, loving beings that it continues in heaven, then it follows that believers have an obligation to cultivate sexual desire and churches should be helping them do that. Then the practice of sex would, like prayer, become something to pursue. By practicing well, we become more of the kind of people we are called to be.

Even though sexual intercourse unifies a man and woman in marriage, it's only temporary. There is no marrying of men and women in heaven. Jesus said so. This is regardless of whatever reason God instituted marriage between men and women on earth for. It doesn't matter if God gave Adam Eve as his wife. They won't be husband and wife in heaven. They won't have sexual intercourse in heaven. They won't reproduce children in heaven. They will be brothers and sisters in Christ with all of us. 1 John 2:17 would include marriage since it will not be in heaven. It is also a desire that will pass away. That's why I also told you to read 1 Corinthians 7:27-31 because it includes sexual intercourse as a way of this earth that will also pass away. It's like people can hear Jesus' voice in their head and vice versa. So communication in the spirit doesn't require a physical act. I could imagine being like an angel having more intelligence than a human being and being perfect in a sense. I would spend my time learning, praising god, working with the animals. Doing something productive in heaven, to each his own though. Maybe god will have different sections or levels of heaven and those who are so worried about sex can go to the level that provides it, if it's even provided.

The verses They all use to say there is no marriage in Heaven are Matthew 22:30 Mark 12:25 and Luke 20:34 If you go to netbible.org/bible/Matthew+1 and use either NET2 or KJV for you bible. Go to these passages click on Greek on the right side of the page you will have to scroll that to the verse but when you mouse over the word marry one of the meanings of the Greek word translated as marry is "take to wife" which actually makes more since so we don't take a wife as the law said in that day and nobody gives a wife to some one. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection’ (Luke 20:34-36) By recounting a story to Jesus, the Sadducees asked Him if would be marriage in heaven, which of course we all know was a trap question. But we need to look at least to two aspects here: 1. What marriage did the Sadducees refer to?; and 2. What did Luke mean by, ‘nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels’ I am sure we all agree up to this point that in the Scriptures are two marriages: 1. God instituted and ordained marriage, and 2. Levirate (or Levitical) marriage. But the question is, which marriage did the Sadducees refer to? There is no doubt in my mind that the Sadducees referred to the Levirate marriage and not to the marriage instituted and ordained by God in the very beginning. I am sure we all know what marriage is God has instituted and ordained at creation, but what is the Levirate marriage? Let’s read Deuteronomy 25:5-10: ‘5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her. 6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel. 7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother. 8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her; 9 Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house. 10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.’ (Please read also Ruth chapters 3 and 4, which also refer to the Levirate marriage.) From the above Scriptures we can see what the Levirate marriage is. The Webster dictionary defines Levirate marriage as follows: ‘the sometimes compulsory marriage of a widow to a brother of her deceased husband www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/levirate Without getting any deeper, for the sake of space and time, in the Old Testament (OT) the Levirate marriage became also a contractual marriage where woman were used (if not abused,) if I may say, forced to marry the bridegroom. Marriages in the OT were generally ‘arranged’ by the father of the bridegroom and bride, or ‘contracted’ marriage, if you please, where the bride had no choice or saying but to marry the bridegroom which, sadly, in some countries even today is still practiced. Now, if we agree that the Sadducees were referring to the Levirate marriage; then, yes, this kind of marriage WILL NO longer be in heaven. God’s instituted and ordained marriage is not a contractual marriage but a union of two souls in flesh and mind, and what God joint together let no man separate. Luke gave us more insight, ‘nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels.’ So, we will be like angels who never die; therefore, there will be no need to remarry as marriages will last for ever. Another thing, in Exodus chapter 20 are Ten Commandments, which we all know of to be eternal, however, two of them specifically deal with marriage, the seventh: commit no adultery and the first part of the tenth, do not covet your neighbour’s wife. Now, if these two commandments are eternal as the other eight, the question is, what is their purpose if on new earth is no husband and wife relationship? If they were temporary for this earth only till it would be populated, then, surely they would have been placed aside in the Ark of the Covenant together with all the ceremonial laws which we know were pointing to Christ’s sacrificial death on the Cross, but it is not the case. Also, after the end of this controversy, between good and evil, Eden will be restored on earth and life will resume what had ceased (or suspended, if you please) at the fall; therefore, it safe to believe that husband and wife relationship will continue on new earth. I find it difficult to believe that God will abolish the very marriage (husband and wife) relationship He instituted, ordained and pronounced to be ‘very good.’ If that were to be true, the implication would be so great that would terribly grieve all His created beings throughout the whole universe. Let us also look at Adam. Adam loved so much his wife Eve that he even renounced his eternal life, so to speak, as he just could not imagine himself without her, whom he called ‘woman,’ as ‘this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh,’ he said (Genesis 2:23.) When Eve ate of the forbidden tree and offered the fruit to Adam, Sister White tells us that he went through a great agony as he knew the consequences and hated to think that he is going to be separated from her. To think or believe that God will destroy that wonderful relationship He Himself created and pronounced to be ‘very good,’ which perhaps is the most complexly designed part of the anatomy of our human body that interconnects our whole being in such a way, in my view, is perhaps wrong. So, in conclusion, I agree there will be no marriages on new earth because those who are going to inherit it will, like the angels (Luke 20:34-36,) never die, and since they will have the right (or God matched) companion (husband or wife) and divorce will be no more, they will enjoy their husband and wife relationship (marital intimacy,) for eternity. Remember God hates divorces (Malachi 2:16, NASB,) as God created man male and female, which He Himself declared to be ‘very good’ in the very beginning and this no one can destroy or make void. Marriage is one of the institutions the first pair brought with themselves out of Garden of Eden and, once this earth restored, will continue for ever. What will cease, however, is procreation as the earth will be populated with the redeemed. I am not saying I am right and none should accept my conclusion; but from my studies, this is what I can conclude. But there is so much more to it, therefore I would encourage anyone to study it.

Right on! I would also say that Jesus didn't actually say there's "no marriage in heaven" like everyone likes to parrot. He said there is no "giving in marriage" -- which is *not* the same thing as no marriage. People confuse that term and think it means to be married. At the time of Jesus, "given in marriage" meant to be given by your father to an arranged marriage partner. So, no, Jesus DID NOT SAY there is NO MARRIAGE IN HEAVEN. That is what everybody reads into it from miss-interpreting that phrase.

Per Gunnar Vik Mjolhus, I am absolutely certain none of us will be disappointed in heaven. I won't worry about the "leftovers" as all of us, including you and I, will be "leftovers", just make sure that we walk with Christ to get there. The Scriptures tell us that heaven is a wonderful place, which eyes have not seen, and the new earth will be likewise, where the redeemed will be immortal, incorruptible, beautiful, full of life without any faults, as everybody will be perfect.

Again, you have to use logic and reasoning to arrive at your conclusion. You say that sex is a part of the marriage relationship, and we won't "marry" in Heaven, therefore there is no sex. That is an extrapolation. It's not what the Bible says explicitly. By the way, Jesus didn't say there is no marriage in Heaven. He said we won't marry or be given in marriage. That is not the same as saying there is no marriage. In fact, the Bible even talks about a marriage super when we get up there. You won't find a verse that states "there is no sex in Heaven". Further, since Heaven is a different place with different conditions, there may very well be something analogous to sex that takes on a Heavenly form... an experience that is the same thing _in essence_, but for our Heavenly bodies. It would be like comparing a bicycle to a motorcycle... two different things but but the same in _functionality and purpose_. You will not find a Bible verse that denies such a thing exists. People who think that are brainwashed to think that sex is an inherently evil thing.

It can't get any more cut and dry for you right there. As much as some of us would want the existence of corporeal sexual relations in Heaven, we cannot get around the words of God's Son HImself. However, there will be ONE marriage in Heaven -- the marriage of Christ to His bride, the Church. But since Jesus pronounced the end of HUMAN marriage, it is implied that it is also the end of corporeal sexual relations. Can you find a verse that explicitly or implicitly states that such a thing WILL EXIST IN THE RESURRECTION? And no, I don't think sex is an evil thing, God created it to be very good. I just can't wait until the desire of it is done away with, and SOMETHING BETTER REPLACES IT!

If my sex life and my romantic life is like a tomb stone, then saying that God will change our desires, is like having the devil piss on my grave. It's like knocking out your teacher right after a test, just so you can give yourself an A. There is certainly a limit to how intimate and emotional I can get with other guys. So basically, nothing is going to change when it comes to how I relate to other guys. I'll become an orphan in Heaven anyway. So I'm just destined to become that dark horse that people won't know much about.

I'll be like that Skywalker woman from Star Wars The Last Jedi movie, the one they hid out in space while she was an infant, before she came back like 30 years later when all the other Jedi were dead. I'll have no identity, I'll be no one, cause I'm the only christian in my family. Even now I'm no one, people hardly remember that I exist. That's why I never feel motivated to finish my music for example, cause what's the point in sharing of myself when nobody cares about me. It's just pointless. I'm broken on the inside, I have no motivation for anything in life. So sharing of myself will definitely become a problem in Heaven if there is nothing to motivate me. Do football players bother to play well during friendly matches? No, they don't, cause they have nothing to play for, so they don't take it seriously. So if there will be nothing to play for, you might as well stay at home rather than going out to meet people. When a feeling stirs within you, you know that it's an eternal desire planted in your heart by God. When I hear good music, a spark ignites within me, making me want to become a great musician. But then I immediately start thinking about girls, cause who wants male fans right lol. If you've got more male fans than female fans, you're doing something wrong. Sometimes your heart starts racing when you finally talk to the woman you have a crush on. Does my heart start racing when I converse with old stick-in-the-mud geezers? I don't think so. There is a power that no one can change, and that's chemistry. I believe that God created chemistry between certain people, because He wanted to seperate people into different groups. When I talk to girls I feel at home, as if that's something I'm supposed to be doing. When I talk to sanctimonious geezers, I don't feel at home. When I discuss music with musicians, I feel at home. When I talk to people who like to be different and unconventional, I feel at home. I feel like a youth at heart, cause I never had the chance to really live like a youth. You know there are probably no electronic music producers in Heaven, so I guess I won't have to work in order to become a star then lol. There are no lawyers there either, according to a joke I once heard. So go and ahead and ditch all of your friends, cause if 99% of them are going to hell anyway, then what's the point right? I know that sounds crazy, but actually it would be quite wise, cause you don't want to be emotionally tied to someone who won't make it. But like I've said many times before, why isn't it a christian law that all infants and children under the age of accountability must be aborted or executed? Cause then 100% of them would go to Heaven. So why is God devastated whenever women have an aborption? Ask yourself that question. Of course abortion is a sin, but WHY is it a sin? 100% probability is 99 times better than 1 % probability. And what about the 120-150 scriptures indicating that Jesus will save all mankind in the end. Google Tentmaker777. It just doesn't make any sense for God to create so many people that are hellbound. Is it really worth condemning 1000 people to hell in order to raise up 1 christian? How will God even enjoy conversing with us if our desires and our personalities will be changed?

Those are the angels that fell. Believers will be like the angels in heaven. No marriage. No intercourse. Jesus cannot allow marriage between men and women in heaven and the desire and ability for it because he designed marriage between one man and one woman and in heaven, we will be married to Jesus instead, where he is the man and the believers are the woman. If he allowed men and women to continue to marry each other, then that would be marrying more than one person. No marriage in heaven means no sexual intercourse because by definition, marriage is sexual intercourse, which is why he said people who are eunuchs cannot marry. Eunuchs cannot have sexual intercourse, so if they cannot marry, this means sexual intercourse and marriage are tied together. God will not change the definition of marriage to separate if from sexual intercourse to allow men and women to have it in heaven because that would go contrary to his standard of marriage and God does not change his standards yesterday, today, or tomorrow. Doing so would also allow sexual intercourse between more than one man or woman which is also contrary to his standard. These are also why God will increase the pleasure non-sexual love rather than increasing the pleasure of sexual love between men and women because allowing and increasing sexual love would go against all these standards. It is also why dietary pleasures of eating fruit and drinking wine will be made new while retaining their forms as physical pleasure to the palate, but physical sexual intercourse is gotten rid of and replaced by non-sexual pleasures made to be better rather than being made better itself. This is why he also has to replace reproduction with a name better than sons and daughters because without sexual intercourse, there is no reproduction. So sexual intercourse, reproduction, and the desire and ability for them will be gone and replaced by other desires and pleasures made to be greater rather than these being retained and made greater in and of themselves.
