I think until we actually see some proper gameplay videos with the new EVO swing, we can only presume and speculate about the new swing and the feedback info. One thing the swing shouldn't do is force players to swing to a pre-set temp just to hit straight shots. Not everyone swings the same in the real world, so golf games need to allow this too, though it's probably not the easiest thing to code. Sone people are slow back, fast through. others are fast back and fast through. Just having a fast swing shouldn't make you hit pulls with every shot.... like the FAST does in 2K23.. Appreciate your take on it all and a lot of what you say makes sense.
@fairway2heaven9 күн бұрын
You can recalibrate the swing in 2K23 already to match your natural swing speed. I am 100% sure this feature will also be in 2K25. So having a penalty for swinging too fast or too slow compared to your preferred tempo seems perfectly fine to me.

I think they implemented the Angled Swing Path with the Evo Swing for many reasons, one being a big one that I am a fan of.. There are so many cheaters who can buy these modded controllers that allows them to only swing down and up perfectly. With the angled swing path those controllers will not work and with the path always changing there will be no way for these people to cheat with controllers. I am sure they will figure out a way at some point but for now, I really like it.
@fairway2heaven14 сағат бұрын
I’m not sure they did it for that. The best players in the world don’t use modded controllers. It is a more realistic representation of the game which is what they are trying for. I think with recalibration and attribute points, it will reduce significantly the impact.
@Bustavegas14 сағат бұрын
@@fairway2heaven I agree with you. I am sure the "Best Players" in the world are legit. But you know there are many who are in clubs & societies that make it almost impossible to compete with. It's very frustrating, grinding your best to become a great player shooting a respectable -15 thinking you are the best player for that tournament just to get destroyed by someone putting up a staggering -35 in 18 holes. I am sure you are away of the frustrations I'm talking about.

How can anyone know until we play it ourselves
@fairway2heaven7 күн бұрын
Experience. I have been playing these games since the first The Golf Club came out so I have seen how they have iterated on the swing system over the last 10 years. Then layer in that they revealed some key information in the trailer and it is possible to provide an opinion of what the likely outcome will be. Hopefully it is helpful to players trying to decide whether to pre order or not.

@ you and me both mate I started early access of the golf club and every other golf game from other publishers before it.
@fairway2heaven7 күн бұрын
So you have a pretty good idea yourself then. The angled swing path seems to be the only meaningful change that is coming in, other than a few extra data points. The bigger changes are around the shot skill tree where you unlock new shot types and the fittings. The question with those is whether they are just an artificial grind to add a sense of progression and extend game time or whether they are meaningful I.e. you can’t max everything and so have to make a conscious build decision. I would prefer the latter but we will see.
@lesliesangster38417 күн бұрын
@ yeah the angled swing path seems interesting I just wonder if it goes the opposite way to the right so I can play with a draw. Very few of my swing planes are straight mostly off to the right. I’m on Xbox by the way not PC. My computer golf career started with leaderboard on the C64 then just about every other golf game since 😂
@fairway2heaven7 күн бұрын
I suspect the angled path will swap between fades and draws, and between right and left handers. I’m on Xbox too. Don’t think I played that on C64, but I had one and an Amiga.

in EA if you want to fade or draw a shot, there is an opiton in the settings where you can flick the swing stick strsight up and down and it will still fade or slice...so you dont have to angle it

As someone who plays on Pro Am swing difficulty, just making my way into Pro to have some online matches....I hope you're right. Took me long enough to get the swing down in 2k23. One things for sure the graphics do stand out a bit more which wasn't a deal breaker for me in the last game but its the lighting in 2k23 was awful at times.
@fairway2heaven9 күн бұрын
It would be a big miss for them if they mix it up too much. We have had incremental improvements ever since The Golf Club so I trust the devs quite a lot to not f*ck it up.
@bigpopppapump9 күн бұрын
That's because the game is designed on a "next-gen only" engine now. The game won't be available on the older consoles so they can actually put more resources into that which is great.
@paulsegrue51339 күн бұрын
@bigpopppapump It's still the Unity engine but an enhanced version. I expect this game to look fantastic on PC, especially with high resolution terrain. I still expect a 30Hz mode on Consoles that looks good and a 60Hz mode with compromises to resolution and lighting.

Great examination. If I wanted realism to golf I’d play golf IRL. I am new to 2k23 (but do play EA Golf) because I just pre ordered 2k25 and I HATE the swing system. I can not get the same rhythm and am always too fast or too slow sending my shots way left or right. If creators think telling us viewers to put in 2000 hours to get better then there’s something fundamentally wrong with the game as it shouldn’t be that hard. Sure, I could dial it down to play MyCareer but if I want to play online competively I have to learn this awful system. Might end up cancelling my pre ordered if it turns out you’re right and the swing system is the same disguised under prettier graphics.
@fairway2heaven9 күн бұрын
The key to swinging better is consistency. Work on having the same swing every time whether it is fast or slow or anywhere in between. Then recalibrate several times. Also use the Rhythm archetype to set your swing path and timing high and use fittings to get them closer to max. It will reduce the impact of any miss hit shots. I think the fundamentals will be the same. Can’t see it changing that much.
@joeymeatball2959 күн бұрын
@ Thanks. I am rhythm. I’ll try recalibrating AGAIN. I thought if I calibrated doing it slow which is normal or smooth to me it would know I’m a slow swinger but after on the course it was SLOW. I shoot +40s which is not fun. If I take that feature off and dial the difficulty down I shoot under par.
@fairway2heaven8 күн бұрын
One thing that helped me when I was struggling a while ago was to swing as fast as I could. Recalibrate to that knowing that I won’t hook the ball, and then aim just a little right of the pin each time (I’m playing a leftie so swap for a right hander) knowing my bad shot is a fade. Might be worth a try so you can get some consistency. Definitely get timing and swing path fittings for your club. They increase the margin of error so bad shots aren’t as bad. One other tip. Play with a wired controller. Wireless controllers are a little inconsistent due to the latency which can have an impact. Good luck.

There is no confirmation of that on the 2K25 website yet but I would be surprised if it wasn’t in the game given it was in 2K23.
@shiggarfraggar78044 күн бұрын
@@fairway2heaventhere actually is on their website and there is no way they would remove a feature that exists for "accessibility" purposes, which is why they also won't remove it from Ranked, regardless of how divisive it is or how easy it is for PC players to cheat using AHK. @ZebraFox99 күн бұрын
I would think all of this can be adjusted in the settings.
@fairway2heaven9 күн бұрын
Possibly. If you look at the settings in 2K23 you have two options, Swing Stick or 3 Click. You can turn vibration on or off. And in the difficulty settings you can adjust the difficulty of the swing I.e. size of bars. That’s it as far as the swing system goes really. So maybe it will be adjustable but maybe not at higher difficulties on which TGC Tours is played. We will see.

My concern is will the Evo Swing be optimized for Xbox, or will the console disparity continue?
@paulsegrue51339 күн бұрын
It's not the Xbox Consoles that are the problem for the game it's Microsoft controllers and that awful 125Hz polling rate. 2K23 plays absolutely fine with Razer wolverine V2/3 or the Gamesire SE/HE on Xbox.

Why would you not want more of a skill gap in the game? The way shot shaping is done in 23 is laughable.
@fairway2heaven9 күн бұрын
We are talking about the majority of players here not you or me. The average player already struggles just with a straight up and down swing, so I think they will struggle even more with angled swings and getting any sort of accuracy with it. That will be very frustrating for them. I think they should know that before making a decision on whether to spend $70 on the game or not.
