Will you score better on the golf course if you play safer? So often we get stuck trying to force driver on every hole, but is that hurting your score? Today we find out as we play two balls, one aggressively and one conservatively.

FYI Mount Mitchell golf course has new owners. I believe they will be making repairs. They are now offering memberships. Still a public course.

Great video! It would be cool to do this over the course of several weeks or maybe a season doing it once a week so things average out and you can get better statistics on what's the best approach.

I'm an 8 handicap. Always right around 80, if I break it I'm happy, above 82, not so much. I'm still in between, and this is one thing I still can't decide. Truly, I am not sure if I am better trying to play super aggressive and make birdies, or safer and just play for par. I think my best rounds have come from when I have really tried to go get my birdies when given an opportunity...

I relate with this so hard. The wild thing is some of my best rounds haven't been because of birdies but not hitting any doubles and minimizing bogey mistakes

I'm a 13 and it makes a difference for me. If I just go center of green and putt rather than pin hunt, I stay in the 85-87 range. When I pin hunt, breaking 90 becomes much more of a task.
