If the short throw shifter is longer below the fulcrum than the stock shifter, then you need to use the thicker bushings that came with it so that the base will be raised by the same amount that the lower segment of the short throw is longer than the stock. Otherwise, the bottom of the shifter will be lower than it's supposed to be if you stick with the bushings that are the same thickness as stock.

Great Video! So, my rolla is a pre-facelift so it came in 2002. It has the 1.4L 4zz-fe so I think it fits? Please help me figure out if this is worth buying for me.

hey so im new to corollas i have an 09 S and the shifter feels very sloppy I ordered the solid bushings for the tables on the trans but Im wondering if i need anything else to get a more "accurate" shifter. got any tips?
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
The bushings alone should definitely make the shifter feel much more solid! Base bushings and shifter bushings together should make a night-and-day difference, though I still have yet to install my shifter cable bushings so I'm speaking from other people's experiences currently
@redrolla2 жыл бұрын
I put upgraded cable bushings, base bushings, and redline mt90 trans fluid, feels a million time better than stock. Short shifter will be even better with that too

I was literally looking at that trd muffler. Irritated the shit out of me lol I wanted one so bad but couldn't beleive the price and condition. I wanted to send him an offer of $30 just because of how much he wanted haha
@WillChang2 жыл бұрын
Definitely way overpriced, I get that it's a rare part but that doesn't warrant hundreds for something I can't install lmao
@redrolla2 жыл бұрын
@@WillChang exactly lol. Ridiculous. Going custom is pretty nice too. A good resonator, 2.5 piping, and an alright muffler and it will sound great. The piping makes the power and torque more noticeable too shockingly.
@redrolla2 жыл бұрын
I have 2.5 piping catback with a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and some mini no name resonator for a muffler, sounds pretty good.

Around what rpm is the car at cruising at 60 mph? I’m just wondering how these high-rev motors sit on highway runs.
@fdyujyrsvhyjn Жыл бұрын
While I can't testify for his specific car, I have a 9th gen 5MT with 300k miles. When cruising on highway it sits at around 2300 rpm. However at 70 it's like just above 3000 rpm.
@taduntadah67 Жыл бұрын
2zzge Corolla XRS in 6th gear holds 75mph at 3000 rpm, 60mph would be about 2200

Thank you! I like the stock shifter personally, may switch to aftermarket one some point but for now I'm happy with it
@jamesyoung56103 жыл бұрын
@@WillChang I still have the stock assembly but swapped the knob for a generic lightweight one. Feels better to me, more precise
