i 100% prefer this format, its much more straight forward when looking for new balis (which is what all of us do because a few is never enough). Dont get me wrong I love the well edited and humorous vids but if these can come out more often and cover a wide range of balis from makers that are not as well known in the community and dont have as much content/ reviews on them that would make me a happy boi

Our main format certainly won't go away, but this format can be used to more efficiently talk about stuff we don't feel is "full review" worthy, and goes beyond a "First Impression" video like most of Will's second channel videos are

Ive seen telestos (similar retail price) go for 400-600. These almost always go for over 1k. The community refuses to allow them to depreciate. Also, Aldi rocks

I do enjoy this video format. more relaxed, laid back, and just enough witty editing without overdoing it. also interesting that the newer ones are now using SS washers. mine, which is number 030 abyss, is on phosphorus bronze washers.

Obviously coming to check out footage on it while I await the post to do there thing, rarely make it to the conclusion, but noticed you chose Incept #92, and was surprised to see as I now own Incept #91! I've got all three and love them. As for price, I don't have a problem with what Pall is selling them for. The quality and flipability (made up word) are excellent. The unboxing experience is top of class. As for Julian and his balisongs, I've got several JK's and a Phobos which Julian does the machining for and all are excellent. As for price, they're not inexpensive, but not over priced imo. Enjoyed your honest review.

Incept #4 checking in! I have to say, even with the steep price tag and having owned many grail level balisongs, I will say the ZZYZX has been my absolute flipper. Balance, handle feel, and ring; if I could only own one balisong it would be this one. Plus the lore is so fun and I love the idea of creating a story around them and the community help creating that. New video format feelings: I love the video format, I think the feelings of the knife and less editing is a great way to go. We get a general feel for the knife and thoughts behind it. We get to see high quality b-roll still. I do miss the gags, and if there is a way to incorporate more with less video editing being required to make some would be a plus. But if sacrificing that to mean more consistent videos going up, I’m all for it. Overall, it feels like a high quality review video with less depth and I’m here for it. I’m maybe including the BS score at the end would be nice without needing to go in depth of each aspect would be a great way to round it all out. But overall, I like it! Fantastic video Brandon! And congrats on joining the Incept tribe!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the ZZYZX! It's still definitely up there in my top 10 for sure. Which are all balisongs I hold in very high regard. I'm glad you like yours so much! As for the editing, I do plan to lighten up the tone a bit, and find some ways to integrate some more humor that is snappier. But an important expectation for myself to set is that it doesn't NEED to have a lot of humor. Which is the expectation for all of our other videos, which can be creatively intensive. As for the BS Score, the problem with that system is that Will and I both have to agree on the scores together. Which means having to spend at least a couple of weeks EACH just gathering our thoughts and tinkering with it, and then coming to a conclusion together. Which is just another logistical and time hurdle. There may be BS Scores for certain products, but this format is more geared toward being 95% Brandon, whereas our full reviews that I do are meant to be like 70% Brandon, 30% Will But that's all stuff I will explore as the format evolves, the ZZYZX video I think will ultimately feel like the "rough draft" for this new direction I'm going in Thank you again for the kind words!

I really wanted to get a Zzyzx but man that $1000 always sets me off to want to commit. Unfortunately the biggest reason I wanted one is just the look and design. Hard to justify for just that. Thank you for the review on it! Always curious on how it felt in general!

My A51 Phobos Horizon is machined by JK and it is definitely something else. I don't think it's necessarily better than a Serif, but I do think the Serif is under price and should probably be as much as JK's. Much different experience for the A51 Phobos. Comes in a cardboard box and is wrapped in tissue 😂 I'm not complaining though I don't need a bunch of extras because I know I'm paying for the Bali. It's nice that Pall does so much to add to the experience 🤘

Im a bit late, but I do want to say, when it comes to value, similar to how brandon mentions he made promotional videos and his charges would be around or over 1000 dollars for all the work he does, someone could absolutely do that work for 200 dollars. That doesn't mean you want the 200 dollar one. Sometimes people consider all the tiny nuances and little details and hand touches and professional experiences worth the extra cost, and thats what brandon offers as well as Jk and paul.

This format of video is still a lot of work to put together, but just removes some of the logistical and formatting challenges of the past, like having to go to different locations to do flipping b-roll, meeting up at Will's place every time we want to shoot something, getting the knives to and from each other, and scripting the videos together and both needing to have spent an extensive amount of time with the knife to be able to make a video about it. So yeah, this will be more repeatable for sure LOL, I certainly will enjoy a single meal from a fast foot restaurant from the ad money this video has generated 😂
