This is an older video but, to me, it resonates so well all that is you and what you’ve created at Bealtaine Cottage! The contrast of dramatic big wind (which I love) with the tender, tinier details of leaf, berry, and jagged edges of broken or fallen branches. I love the mention of Blake, whom I believe I’ve likened some of your bits of writing to. This post deemed mad squeaked (just) his way into the romantic poetry school, though he had a different more wild vision. You are always such an inspiration Collette!

I am 66 years old and for some reason I have been thinking alot about my next life and what I would like it to be.It's almost like God is having a little conversation with me about it. I keep having dreams of having a little purple cottage with a big hearth and a wild garden. It has become so real to me and I think about it all the time. It feels me with happiness and expectations. Do not ask me how but somehow your blog showed up on my channel and I clicked it on. I started crying and was so happy It is like God is showing me this little bit of heaven on earth and to let me know he has heard me and in my next life I will have my little purple cottage with a hearth and a wild garden. But for now I can enjoy yours and feel so happy just seeing it with you through your eyes. Thank you so much.

PINK CHAMPAGNE. Thank you so much. Things have been happening to me. I wanted to plant wild violets, clover, and dandelions as a start. I looked out my window one morning and there were so many dandelions I couldn't believe it! My son took me outside and there was clover, plantain, wild lettuce, and so much more. I know I can have my garden! I can't afford to paint my house purple but my son and daughter are painting the inside a beautiful lavender. Thank you so much for your kind words you don't know how much it meant to me. God bless you so much please!

I just love watching your videos every day....sounds sad I know but, I get the same feeling watching them as I do when going out into my own garden. I feel energised and my heart swells. Just last night, we left the back door open for our dog to come and go as she pleases. Hubby goes into the downstairs bathroom and finds buttons trying to get behind the bucket in the shower. It turned out to be a frog! I was so happy! I quickly rescued it from Buttons and put it back in the garden as there were slugs and obviously food for the frog/toad. Can anyone get that excited about having a frog in the garden? I took it for a sign that it may be Autumn but nature is still doing it's thing. It is not yet time for hibernation and I am glad of the slugs, or I wouldn't have frogs. So yes, It is a magical time of the year and it brings an excitement and expectation of change. My own little suburban food forest is still only fledgling, but I do already feel it a place close to nature and it does fill my soul! Thank you for sharing. x

I noticed that at around 19:50 I think it was, you were speaking of letting Mother Nature have her way, the wind picked up in answer :) She hears you, feels what you’re doing & glories in it, thanking you for your diligent efforts on her behalf. I can’t agree w/ you more about what William Blake had to say about the wee robin redbreast, it would be a travesty to ever see that sweet little creature in a cage. Thank you Colette for another amazing visit to the sanctuary you have created. I am so grateful to be allowed in :) Blessings upon you & Jack 💕

You are so dead-on, Colette. The less we can live on, the less time we are forced to spend at jobs that destroy the earth, and the more time we have to attune ourselves to nature wants. Every dollar we don't waste has a corresponding benefit for the earth. Being unemployed and watching my money, I'm finding it truly amazing how little I can live on and still be happy, nay, happier. Thanks for the camaraderie ; ) Dave p.s. Sorry to make literal your message, but it just translated out to me that way. I entirely understand the deeper sense of surrendering and not wanting things to be your way too much, too ; )

A very lovely and moving video Colette! As an empath I have always been able to feel what Mother Nature's creatures and plants and trees feel. I have learned to keep this to myself because whenever I expressed what I felt empathically from nature I have been laughed at or accused of perhaps taking to the drink too much. And I agree with you, William Blake was an incredible soul and so very rare. Seldom do we encounter humans of his unique kind of brilliance and talent and sensitivity. It was such a delight to see Robin Redbreast, for although we have Robins here they are not as delicate nor have the bright red colour on their breast as yours do. Blessings to you and Jack! ❤️❤️

I So NEEDED this vid tonight. The winds enchant me ~ many years ago while visiting my brother when he was living in Montana in a cabin, there was such a wind that was shaking every leaf in all the trees that you would have thought the river had jumped its banks and was roaring past the window that night. What a beautiful sound it was. Thank you for taking us on a lovely walk through your gardens! You have inspired me to make a small standing stones in my soon to be dwelling in the next several months. Blessings, Katherine

It's spring here in NZ so life is bursting into growth again with warmer days, but truly in the North Island plants never really stop growing. I love your lovely garden and it's secret places. You are a treasure to have restored this barren place to beauty. I don't share your belief in the supernatural but I my father was Irish so I'm a bit conflicted about it, but then again if the world thought more in terms of Mother Earth then surely the world would be a better place. Love and peace to you Colette.

I think this is one of my favorite of your videos so far - although I have many others yet to watch. Autumn has always been my favorite time of year. It's the time when nature winds down, as you have pointed out, and gets ready for slumber. Plants and animals are doing so, and we should take our cue accordingly. Lay up our stores for the long winter, and take this season to contemplate, to review what has gone before without judgment, but taking the lessons the journey provides. I love an approaching storm. In my area of the US, the winds pick up, and the air becomes thick with humidity, as if it has a mass all its own. I love to imagine the wind in the leaves are the whispers of the Earth Mother to all the woodland, meadow, prairie and garden spirits. Love your comment about textbooks, because we know the Earth Mother does not need a textbook. My front porch is painted in vibrant, multiple colors. On one of the rafters, I have stenciled what I believe. It's not the destination, it's the journey. Blessings on your journey, and many thanks from me to you that you allow me to glimpse portions of your journey.

"When you look at this life of action - the growing tree, the bird on the wing, the flowing river, the movement of the clouds, of lightning, of machines, the action of the waves upon the shore- then you see, do you not, that life itself is action, endless action that has no beginning and no end. It is something that is everlastingly in movement, and it is the universe, God, bliss, reality. But we reduce the vast action of life to our own petty little action in life, and ask what we should do, or follow some book, some system. See what we have done, how petty, small, narrow, ugly, brutal our action is. Please do listen to this! I know as well as you that we have to live in this world, that we have to act within time and that it is no good saying: 'Life is so vast, I will let it act, it will tell me what to do.' It won't tell us what to do. So you and I have to see this extraordinary phenomenon of our mind reducing this action which is infinite, limitless, profound, to the pettiness of how to get a job, how to become a minister, whether to have sex or not- you know all the petty little struggles in life. So we are constantly reducing this enormous movement of life to action which is recognizable and made respectable by society." - J. Krishnamurti

I have birds but not in cages. They fly around the house. So messy and destructive, but I love them and since I bought them before I knew better, I don't think they should suffer in cages. I worry about what will happen to them when I die. It should not be legal to sell birds as pets.

A free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream till the current ends. He dips his wings in the orange sun rays and dares to claim the sky. The caged birds sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still. And his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom. A few lines I love from Maya Angelou's Caged Bird.
