i have been a big fan of everything this dude has done since i heard him for the girst time drunk at a party about a year ago. i think his lyrics and voice are what really makes him good. the simplicity and stripped down air about his music is also another thing to dig about him. to each his own. looking forward to seeing him live for the first time in novmeber!

Just like Johnny Cash, it's not always about the chords, it's the lyrics, this is a perfect example of modern story telling music. Not to mention, he is awesome live.

Maybe because I'm not from the area, and I don't know the radio station, but to me, the DJ is completely out of focus. I've watched this video, maybe, 30/40 times, and every time at the end of it I ask myself if the DJ was even paying somewhat attention to William Elliott Whitmore. The man has poured his soul into his music, and all the DJ says is "bravo". Always struck me as strange…

First time I seen/heard him was 4 or 5 years ago when he opened for Clutch. I was wondering who the hell he was and holy shit what a performance. Not to mention I seen him in Edmonton Alberta and found out during the show he was from a town a few hours south of where I was born and raised which was in itself f'n awesome! Great guy, great tunes!

His lyrics are awesome. I don't know who those 4 dislikes are. He played for us(I'm on the talent committee) at the RiverSong festival in Hutchinson, MN, last year. He put on a great show! It was getting near the end of his set and he hadn't done "Devils" yet. He broke a guitar string. So with just one song left, he pulled out his banjo and played this song. It was just as good. See him live if you can.

@sloucho84 It has to do with me enjoying music while drunk? This, along with a large amount of other country, folk and bluegrass music, is excellent music to have playing in the background whilst imbibing the spirits! Why is that the only thing in my post you chose to inquire about? Anyways, still a huge fan of WEW and will be seeing him for the first time this coming Monday since he was sick and didn’t play last time he was scheduled too! Cannot F’N Wait!!

i've just discovered him and i must say i am quite impressed with his voice. I do not know if he writes his own stuff or not but i do feel the lyrics are a bit too explicit for the genre. It takes a bit of the poetry away ... still amazing voice.
@swampssa5 жыл бұрын
How are they too explicit for the genre? Demented lyrics date back deeply especially with older blues. Dig into the old swamp blues. This song isn't even remotely demented in the slightest.
