I’ve used spray silicone on the table to help my bigger leather pieces slide better. Mostly the leather restaurant booth covers that are so big.

Great video - enjoyed that Neil. You've inspired me to get an upholsterer to quote me on a re-cover for an old Tessa leather armchair I've got - the leather has kind of perished and the padding has gone all flat... This looks fantastic.

Hey!! That’s great news - I always say it’s better to restore good pieces of furniture rather than buy new as they don’t make them like they used to! Plus it’s better on the environment 😉 thanks so much for watching!!
@von2balurn Жыл бұрын
That looks stunning and incredibly satisfying to watch the process. Wondering why you didn't just replace the wood though. Would it have been less labour intensive to cut some new pieces and just drill new holes?

Hi, great video and very informative. Just one question, with the top stitch, are you essentially going through 3 layers of leather to make it?
@faceliftinteriors2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stewart! Thanks for watching, glad you found it helpful 😊👍🏻 yes the stop stitch does go through all of the layers.

Such a nice job! So... what happens if leather does not breathe?
@faceliftinteriors3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! If it’s not able to breathe, the leather will be rock hard when you sit down on it and then the air will try to escape from any place it’s able to. That’s why I’ve put a lining fabric on the back of the sections you sit down on so the air can escape through that. 😊👍🏻
