Thanks Roger, yup enjoying nice summer for a change, set to get hotter next week. I do like English walnut, if you can get some of the sapwood included in the project, so much better.

Thanks Fred. Got the inspiration from Martin Saben Smith regarding the texturing, colour and gold wax.

Thanks John. With acknowledgement to you for inspiring the "gold nugget" in the void. There was no indication it was there until it turned up, right on the transition like. So I just thought what would John do?

William I am enjoying this series of of fluting videos .Why do you make your parting tool cut before you cut your flutes ? I always do it in the reverse order . It is much easier to vary the depth of your parting tool cut to compensate for any slight variations in thickness of the wood and it is easy to see when breakthrough is about to happen . Ted

Hi Ted, the simple answer is that I never thought about it, thanks for the tip, which i'll do next time.

If you turned some of the back off it it'd make a good wall hanging, or even turn it into a clock.

Rob, yes, I like the idea of a wall hanging and I might do that. The clock might lose the "gold" nugget!
