Awesome stuff! I love playing this (as Shoulder pin guard) especially very useful against stronger opponents with good posture. Thanks for sharing Sonny!

I’d love to hear the pros and cons of Williams Guard vs Clamp guard. Seems like they have similar setups and attacks.

so the "pinwheel pass" just seems like hes turning into the omoplata, then using the jump over escape to pass. couldnt this just be stopped the standard way of reaching over the back of their waist to grip the far hip? and then youd still have the omoplata. (im probs missing something here)
@SonnyBrown2 жыл бұрын
Good question, so it could be stopped in the standard way, but if you keep the frame locked around the leg then you won't have that arm available to block.

I was gonna comment this as well. I've had way more success with Williams Guard in NoGi over Closed Guard and Rubber Guard (some people are too large). The "counter" just seems like it only works if I'm asleep at the wheel. It feels like a great guard to me so far, and if I get countered/reversed then it was all my fault.

I still see him comment occasionally, I'll say that the breakdowns and research do take a lot of time so I understand why hemay have stopped with those.

I believe London was added 'back' into Eddie's system
@SonnyBrown Жыл бұрын
Interesting, I thought I had seen it being played a bit more recently. Was it a recent development?
@davidjason2894 Жыл бұрын
@@SonnyBrown I think he removed London ( actually Shawn Williams Guard or Shoulder Pin guard ) around 2008, but it has been 'rediscovered' over the past several years apparently.
