WrightGrip 2.0 is probably the best value in an American made wrench. I have a couple sets of them along with my SnapOn Flankdrive sets. Wright Tool makes some of the largest and strongest sockets and wrenches in the world and they have been doing it for almost 100 years.

@@G5Hohn The ONLY problem with Wright Tool Company is that they have never paid much attention to the automotive repair industry. They have done well in the past with industrial and military products so requests for certain tools that us automotive guys use falls on deaf ears. Long pattern combination wrenches would be an example of what sells well to auto technicians but Wright has no desire so far to produce. They did supply Matco with a few tools in the past but that’s about it. I’ve got several thousand dollars worth of their impact sockets and they are the best of any, including the tool trucks offerings, manufacturers out there.

It’s a company that promised and promoted a lifetime warranty, this company is over a hundred years old and was around before snap on acquired them. If every tool company switch hands, and decided to not honor warranties you all would have your thumbs up your asses. Craftsman is cheap as hell and harbor freight yet their warranties still hold, your points are completely invalid. Go suck off your local snap on dealer some more.

What this guy is saying is true. I use a Bacho 12inch adjustable to do alignments to loosen the jam but instead of the 21mm flank drive b/c it leaves witness marks which is annoying. I have a good snap on guy to warranty all the issues, I take my job seriously

I bought a williams socket set and it was missing a socket. I filled out their contact us on the website and 2 people actually emailed me, they are sending the missing socket. I can't speak for all the tools but the sockets are high quality and cheaper then snap on. Would recommend.

Interesting information. Good detail. So, when you are comparing your details, which is good, here is a very important detail... Nearly all the tools shown in this video are rusty, oxidized in poor condition. Like they had been sitting out in the rain. It doesn't take any time to take an oily rag and wipe down your tools. This is clearly a red flag to me. Why are all your tools rusty? Even if you just use your tools and don't oil them, alot of the rust will come off, and you are left with patina. My experience is, after 66yrs, keep your tools oiled up, well lubricated and there is WAY LESS chance they will malfunction. It takes only minimally extra effort to clean off and oil your tools when you are done using them. Pro tip.

@Joe Shabidu exactly. These are Black Oxide. The sweat from your hands, change in humidity in the shop… ect… will cause black oxide to rust. This old fella must not own or use many Industrial tools. All of the used industrial tools have this rust patina on them. All of them. Granted there are a couple of pockets on that ratchet that are rusty, however in the gearbox where that poly designed pin that holds the paw springs sheared off and there is no repair kit going to fix that. Snap on tools are replaced no questions asked, Williams, is shit to deal with if you need to have the so called lifetime warranty used.

Nothing is free in this world especially good tools. You paid for that Snap-On warranty when you bought the tool from the dealer. Just like today that Snap-On ratchet was probably three or four times as expensive as a comparative quality made ratchet back in the day. When you buy Snap-On tools you are paying for much more than the tool. You are paying for service from the tool truck dealer, financial services to buy the tool over time, warranty service from the dealer and Snap-On to either pick up the broken tool at your shop and bring you the new replacement or fixed tool or for Snap-On to pay the shipping both ways if you no longer have the same dealer. Snap-On can afford these expensive services because you pay for them when you buy the tools. No company could afford to offer these services for free especially a lifetime warranty. Williams tool are much less expensive than Snap-On because you are not paying for the same services. Many of the Williams tools are made on the very same manufacturing lines with the same tooling and machines as Snap-On. They are in essence the same quality tool but with less service attached to the price of the tools.

The double box Williams I got from Amazon or USA made and they are excellent. I like Wright the most, but their double boxes are sketchy in some sizes for metric because they don't have dedicated forging dies to the ring ends are huge and look like a child's toy.

You're kind of ignoring the fact that you get Snap-On quality for Harbor Freight prices. The warranty service is lacklustre of course, but they're way less likely to need a warranty claim than a tool from HF. It's good to know before buying, but lots of people would be fine with waiting 4-6 weeks in exchange for the savings on pro quality tools.

Well, the thing about Williams is that they're the Manufacturer for snap-on, so you're dealing with what is primarily a manufacturing company.

Nope. They don't even have any of their own manufacturing capability. They had two factories in New York before the buyout, one is now a GM factory and the other has been repurposed to have a bunch of small businesses in it. Williams USA products are manufactured in Snap-on facilities.

I had the same problem with my Williams stuff. I did get it sorted out though, luckily for me our tool distributor sells Williams products. It was still a pain. I had to set up an account with them. You have to warranty Williams through a distributor. As far my Williams tools I took them home. I use Proto and Wright. Proto will take care of you! When you buy Snap-On you pay for a service. Williams doesn't have that service even though the same manufacturer to make their tools. What Ever you do don't buy Williams or Snap-On through Amazon!!

then you haven't broken a tool yet, You need to use your tools more and then you may break one. My point was simple. Snap On takes care of the customer ASAP without jumping through a bunch of hoops. Williams is ridiculous to deal with. I dont know why because they are the same GD company.

I had 4 warranty Snap-on tools in the last two months take a month online. One is still an issue. Snap-on received it Wed 7/20/2022 at 10:46 per UPS. The Customer service rep said I will email Snap-on shipping on Friday (8/12).

Id rather have the tools that will work. I've had some pretty shitty USA made stuff and some pretty shitty overseas made stuff. Of course I'd prefer USA but they are getting too expensive. As long as its not made in China, im ok with it. I have some great Taiwanese tools.

@@andybub45 I have to agree with you all the way. This is why the Demand is not super high for USA made tools. Most tool trucks themselves carry Taiwan made tools, built with insane durability that the tool trucks can stand behind their product and honor warranty if needed.
