WILLIAMSBURG, VA - 1952

Nearly fourteen minutes of Williamsburg, Virginia, shot in 1952 by what I believe to be Bob Carney, a contract 'stringer' who regularly shot footage for James A. Fitzpatrick, a well known producer of more than 300 travelogues.
Fitzpatrick never produced a film about Williamsburg and it may be possible these moving images represent an intended project that was never completed. These 16mm moving images came from an estate sale in San Jose, CA.
I generally prefer music to accompany film, but it was difficult finding something that matched this length. Then it dawned on me... why not the spoken word? I must confess, the use of JFK's Inaugural Speech on January 20, 1960 is a strange but perfect juxtoposition, considering the pre-revolutionary subject matter and our own political times.
