I have one and it's so versatile. The steam function is perfect for making soup, and steaming veggies. The insert is not heavy, and is very easy to clean up. It has handles that make it so easy to lift and move around the kitchen. A great tool!

lol. ok. I mean HOW lazy do we need to be. It has a sauté function that let's you cook additional ingredients in the same pot, then add the rice, butter, wine, stock, then leave it for 20 min. I bought this last week, and just let it go.. NO stirring, and this thing is incredible. If the thermomix works for you.. awesome. But this little beast is an awesome addition for me, as it replaced a rice cooker, steamer, and slow cooker... and cooks insane risotto. Happy to use the counter space.

Breville. A great Australian company. Never heard risotto pronounced Ri-zoe-toe before though.

You realize to make a risotto in a normal pot you need to CONSTANTLY stir it for the duration of the cook time of 30+ minutes. All she did was MIX the ingredients in...

Although it IS funny how she says at the beginning 'you don't have to stir', and then later she says 'can you believe you can do this without stirring?'.. but she says 'I'm just gonna give it a quick stir' about 1,000 times..haha.. but really... obviously you want to mix ingredients together.. it's the fact that most of the stirring was done in the sauté function for browning, and the constant stirring that you have do do for proper risotto is not necessary during it's 20 minute cook time.

is it the same rebranded as SAGE? BTW the thin alluminim pot make it look cheap.... like an unexpensive chinese rice cooker!

"can you believe you didnt have to stir this at all" as she continues to stir after the 50th time stiring. Its a great product but to say you dont need to stir is a bit ridiculous, yes it doesn't require the constant stiring required for normal risotto making but its certainly not stir free.

MaZEEZaM in terms of risotto making. This is stir free.

Good recipe but I find the pretentious word use like "put in some aromatics" pretty annoying. It's bloody garlic and onion, argh.

By all means! This is not a risotto! First of all: the wrong rice! How can you do that, not using a round corn rice, like Arborio Or Carnoli Rice? Second: A risotto has be be a creamy consistence! Means you dont have all the rice grains separeted on the dish! How can you!

And Third: The Stock has to be hot before putting it in ! And normally a risotto (italien Made) has also some wine in it! By the Lord! How can you tell this is a risotto!
