thats not a crust: that is burnt. the reaction your looking for is achieved at a lower temperature, ripping hot yes but not THAT hot! try reducing the temp a bit more and do this again! would love to see it.

to clarify, when you flipped the product and said the grills marks were beautiful, thats where you should have left it for both sides, the end product looked a bit burnt out, if it tasted good to ya, thats all that matters. just my two cents.

Great machine for drip coffee but don't expect a great frother. Espresso comes out a bit watery and not very hot. I soley use it for drip coffee unfortunatley, priced for an espresso machine, performs like a Mr.Coffee.

I'm considering buying CASO ProChef 3500 but it is only rated for 18KG and 27cm diameter. I did not find anything bigger than that one. I want to get one mainly for efficiency, easy cleaning, and zero indoor emissions. But I won't be able to boil a large pot of jam there and I don't have multiple lines of power for multiple burners.
