Nice to watch.... Hope you enjoyed it here in VT.... In the good weather I walk on the trail every Friday in Bennington /Woodford.... Harmon Mountain... Sorry I missed you... Met a few thru hikers this year.... Great videos btw.

Loved Bennington. A guy was at the trail swimming in the river and he drove us into town and gave us a tour of everything and drove us up to an apple orchard so we could see a view of the town and surrounding mountains. Great time!

I have to say, what I like best about your videos, is how positive you are. Everything you say, everyone you meet, you're just a really nice person and always seem truly genuine. Thanks for making the world a better place through your videos (because you really are!).

Fantastic forest. Aside from that, what kind of gear is it that you are using to balance the camera? It works really, really well.

I use a stickpic and just my hand. The Sony camera has a great stabilizer when turned on. It was actually turned off for almost all of this video because it was a new camera and I forgot to turn it on :)

Any chance you could make a future "post thru hike" video regarding shelter? Your own experience regarding how often you stayed at shelters, hostels, hotels, pitched a tent randomly along the trail, other, ect... as well as general information for the unfamiliar regarding how frequent the designated shelters/campgrounds along the trail are? Stuff like that.
@RedBeard0924

m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJPMnp2aqdSgpKc The link above covers some of your questions. I really never stayed in shelters at less if it was required, otherwise I stealth camped away from all shelters and campgrounds in this tent. Hope this helps some. Will try to post a video on this subject matter just don't know if I'll have enough time before I leave for the Pacific Crest Trail.

“SOBOs says that there aren’t many views in Vermont” Entire video proceeds to be amazing views, mixed with bits of stunningly beautiful fir forests.

The video from the fire tower showing the spruce trees from above is a big contrast to the view on the trail itself. As far as the lush growth I think it is more a factor of the time of year rather than being in Vermont. Thanks again for the great videos. I hope you get the New Hampshire and Maine videos done before you head out on the PCT. I know the guys who had the chipmunk eating their stuff was bad. I had mice do that to my tent in Shenandoah National Park but I was the only camper who got hit. There was no food in my tent but the dang mice were building nests in my clean clothes and bringing in their own stash of acorns.

I just finished watching all of your AT videos that are sequentially numbered. They are all really good, but I like your edited versions better that are in the playlist. If I had the time for a 3-4 month vacation I'd love to do a through hike. I just don't know how you guys get away for that long. "Hike nude! It puts color in your cheeks!"

Hey do you have any tips on what camera and equipment to use while recording these thru- hikes? I am definitely going to walk the appalachian trail and ever since i started watching your videos it made me want to record it and show other people how beautiful it is.

Yeah for sure. If you have a huge budget than Who knows what I would get but for less than 400 bucks you can't go wrong with the camera I used Sony HDR-AS100V. It weighs nothing and is much more reliable than a gopro. Trust me on that. They are coming out with a new version too AS200V. Definitely can't go wrong with this camera. Good luck on your hike.

I film with a Sony HDR-AS100V action camera and I can sync my IPhone to it via Bluetooth and thus it turns my iPhone into a view finder.

Another great video in your series. Really like how you have it broken into states. You hike with a fast pace! Sorry about your friend and her tent, but sleeping with your food bag, never a good idea. Sunset at 5:20 was awesome! Great views with the stick pic. Cool spot on the top with all the ski stuff. Thanks for posting!

You are very knowledgeable about the different mountains around you is there a map that lists all the different names?
@RedBeard0924
@RedBeard0924 9 жыл бұрын
Well it's much easier to know what your looking at mountain wise when you walked through them the entire way. But I also use the David Miller Appalachian Trail Guide to know the names of all the mountains. Essentially though I keep aware of my surroundings.

Its to bad that the AT doesn't follow the Long Trail all the way through Vt. you miss so many great views Vt. has to offer. That's all cedar swamp where the boardwalks are.

Red Beard, you have rightly earned another name should you choose to accept it: Mountain Goat! You are one walking dude. I've not done this type walking since I was in the army but hope to take on a portion of the AT with my wife when we get a break from work. Thanks for uploading your videos.
