I've watched many videos on the white mountains with many different backpackers and each have there own style there own personality. The good ones feel like your right there with them. You have done a wonderful job with this section I will watch the other sections as well. The solitude for me when backpacking is one of the main reasons I love it. Stealth camping and staying away from huts is just my choice. Congrats on taking that long walk on the trail through the woods and truly enjoying it. Good luck on your next adventure and stay safe. I have enjoyed all of your Appalachian Trail videos from Georgia to Maine. Seems that each state truly has something different to see and experience. You started with a little cold and frozen precipitation in the south, and transitioned into hot and humid conditions in the Virginia's and Mid-Atlantic. I live in Texas, now, but I am from North Carolina originally, and I miss those beautiful mountains and atmosphere. This made me feel like I was home.

Got lucky on mt washington when i went through in 1996 the wind was so bad i was almost blown off the mountain several times. It was september, maybe that was my mistake, but i will never forget it. Great job filming the whole trail, wish i did.

NH is tough to beat. The pecks brook shelter area and the ethan pond area are very nice. I caught a bunch of brook trout at Ethan pond on one trip. Like you videos, although I wish you had more off trail footage. thanks for sharing and take care.

Yeah I wish I did too. I was usually so busy in town resupply, recharging camera batteries, uploading footage to youtube and shoving as much food down my face that I rarely filmed in town. But I am going to try and film much more on the PCT.

Yes I saw 35 bears on my hike. No big deal, they mostly scattered when they see you except dor a few with cubs.

Never stayed in a hut when I went thru the whites. Definitely felt the same way you did about hut cru. AMC sort of put a sour taste in my mouth in general. Made an epic section a little stressful - not knowing where you were camping each night.

Most beautiful section you have uploaded to date!! You all really covered some ground for the conditions, and that wind rippin like that sure must take it out of you. Does it get tough to breath at those altitudes or is it not noticeable? Also being so dangerous, I was wondering what kind of first aid do you pack and Still keep the pack light? New Hampshire was amazing. Didn't notice much breathing difficulty there so that was good. My first aid kit is ultralight. 2 bandaids and some ibuprofen. I'm not a big first aid guy. I've been backpacking for over 15 years and never had anything more than a small cut. So I don't go crazy with the first aid. Happy hiking!

Hi will, theses are just awesome videos I just came across them and know I'm late to the party! I have a question, my wife and I started hiking a couple Yeats ago so we are new to this and always hear that u need special this and that for gear. I noticed you have the brooks running type shoes listed. I had to look them up and they are very inexpensive on amazon and you are going thousands of miles. Do fancy expensive hiking boots from the rei's of the world make any difference at all? Thanks a bunch these are super entertaining videos!

CWdobro trail runners are my preference. I did find that I would only get about 600 miles out of each pair. But less blisters and better feel of the ground. Most thru hikers are hiking in trail runners. But you could get more mileage out of a pair of day Keen boots.

How weird I came across this video. I was on the summit of Jefferson the same morning you were on the summit of Washington. I went on to do Adams then returned back over Jefferson to loop around Washington. There is a distinct possibility we passed each other. Was a glorious day, wasn't it?

Gold Star Dirt I use Sony Action cameras mostly. They weigh nothing and the new ones shoot in 4k. In town I edited using iMovie on my iPhone and uploaded when I had strong service. Can take a long time if you are uploading 4k files. Lots of hiking bloggers send memory cards to someone else who then edits the footage and posts.

I was wearing a Casio Protrek PRW3000 and I would totally buy it again. I was manually set the elevation before I started climbing and it was extremely accurate. Also not as expensive as some of the gps watches.

What is the "different Name" that the AT is known by in the Whites? Just curious.

The AT goes by many different names through the Whites. The names are trail names that I assume have existed there for awhile. For example the signs will read: Greenleaf Trail (AT) or maybe not even say AT. So you just have to pay attention through the whites.
