I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every single one of you who has left a comment on this video, I am truly blown away by the compassion, understanding and love I have been shown. From those of you who have offered advice to those of you who have also shared your own life experiences dealing with the issues I have spoken about. The response has been humbling and I’m an overwhelmed by the kindness of this wonderful community. I wanted to let you all know that I have seen and greatly appreciate you taking some time out of your busy lives to show such support and community spirit, thank you! You are all legends 🙏🏻👊🏻💙

This is my dream fella & you’re about to be living it! Please be in the moment & appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in, as it’s incredible work, I think so many are proud! It definitely connects people & I think that’s what people need more of, so know that even if you feel it, YOU’RE NOT ALONE! You will travel & meet soooo many beautiful people which will help not only your social needs but also great for videos, to see how meeting these people changes both lives & just a deeper insight into human connectivity 🙌🏾 we want to see you succeed but know life does what it wants so yeah just live in the moments my man!!! Congratulations again as it’s a stunning build!

Stay single will because it’s easy in life and can sleep with anyone you want no one telling what to do and believe me the best thing I ever done was be single and I had kids because women are just about money and her mates . Pluse it’s not lake years ago you got married and had kids because the world difference now and people who get married they end up splitting up its 95 percent that people spit up so stay strong you will look back and think am better single so take care lad from Liverpool

Hi Will, I found your channel about 2 weeks ago and have been working my way through your van build videos whilst randomly picking others to watch. I've been off work with mental health issues for the last three months. During that time I had to say goodbye to my dog (in my pic) on the 26th July as she had cancer. She was 16 so we knew the end was coming but being told she had cancer and we had 3 months max with her it really knocked me for six. she managed two months. You have given me the drive to get back up on my feet and move forward with my life. I'm now looking at getting a small van and doing a conversion to a micro camper for me and the missus to get away for long weekends. You really inspired me get get going away. I hope I have the opportunity to meet you in person one day as I'd like to say 'thank you' face to face and shake you hand. Keep being you Will, I'm sure you will get everything you deserve on life. If you ever find yourself in Sheffield and in need of a hand hit me up, I owe you one or two. 😉

Good video Will, I’ve followed you since your Nepal days, they were what got me hooked, your whole experience there in a country I’ve visited from the UK a few times, I’ve always enjoyed your openness, your ups I feel good, your downs I find myself sending beams of strength to you through the airways. I know a couple of years ago now I mentioned to you, long before the stealth camping that maybe you should trek across to Nepal from the UK, that would make great viewing, even more so in a van, but that’s me being selfish I guess as it’s you that does the trek and I the viewer just watch and enjoy your journey and adventures, your young enough to do that in the future, look at Gabriel traveller, one of your KZbinrs, he’s still pumping out it out day after day, but again, he’s not you and your not him, but Will, your very young, (27), you’ve got lots of time in front of you, there really is no rush for you, take your time, work hard, relax well, and follow your gut feeling, but not instantly is my advice, if you have a idea, then sleep on it, maybe sleep on it again then take then put into practice the process of what you feel for.. I along with thousands and thousands of subscribers want only the best for you Will on your journey of life, static or on the road, that’s totally down to you. Best, Mark

I usually don't comment but on this video I had to. I have deep respect for you Will! I think you're doing an amazing job with sharing your thoughts and difficulties in life. It makes your channel real and inspiring. I also understand your worries about feeling alone. Maybe it helps to see this period in time as 'temporal' but precious and healing for you as a person, before you meet someone and start sharing your life. You're now just preparing for that moment ;) Anyways, please keep going the way you do! Big hug from The Netherlands! :)

For me, I have watched loads of your stuff, I think it's class, and I'll continue watch whenever you post. But you don't owe me anything. You don't owe anyone watching anything. I sympathize I suffer with anxiety, depression, what the doctors are putting down to a form of PTSD. Most of what causes these issues are the reasons I ended up in a van in the first place. I found that vanlife has helped me, and has given me a safe space. We’ve met a couple of times at vanlove and Overlander, and found you great to talk to. Although, I am not an extrovert like yourself, I do enjoy contact with others, and at times it’s just what I need. Unlike yourself I work in a structured environment, and have contact with other people most days, which helps my mental health. It’s scary going full time, but it soon passes. You’ll find your comfort zone, and get into a routine of vanlife. Keep it up, enjoy your videos.

I wouldn't normally comment. BUT this touched me Firstly welcome to full time van life. Myself and my partner gave up our lives in January and we live full time in our small Toyota Hiace Secondly, maybe to help you with the money, we, work all the festivals (reading, Glastonbury, boomtown). Maybe this is something you could think about. You would earn money by working at the festivals, then any videos you make about the festivals would make excellent KZbin viewing. Plus the people you meet are amazing! Thirdly, don't rush. Do things your pace. I suffered massively with mental health last year, and I now take the scars of that with me forever. And it was all for nothing....over a stupid over worked under paid job. Vanlife has allowed my mind to calm and me to find myself. Finally, we've followed your videos for months, they helped us both incredibly during our full time transition. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️ Do everything for yourself and noone else. Only you know where true happiness lies.

Others may think it, but I’ve always liked your ability to be honest about things like this (and it’s no doubt helpful for your 🧠) to be able to voice it and have some form of electronic support 🙏

Hey Will, just watched your video and you’re so right to talk about this stuff. I’m self employed and struggle with the exact same issues working by myself. I also need to be around people and also really struggle when i don’t have routine. It’s taken me a long time to realise this and make adjustments so that I have the interaction with people that I need and now understand the importance of routine. Of course I still have off days but then I think we’re all the same there and at the end of the day we’re all just trying to get through life making the money that we need whilst making memories and finding the right balance. Just keep going, you’re doing great and you’ll find your cliche. Xx

I’ve only been a solo full time lifer for 4 months but the balance is working for me so far. My biggest sadness is that I’d much rather not be doing this solo, I’d much rather be sharing it all with someone. It is after all a wonderful life. I chat, I date when I can 🤷‍♀️ what else can I do. Might as well be happy while I’m roaming 😁. You’re gonna love it 🙏

Realising a dream is scary stuff , most people don't experience this and assume it will be sunshine and lollipops from now on !! In my very valuable opinion (ha ha) I think getting a job in the fire service would be wonderful, it would give you the community you want, but also the freedom for vanlife too, You dont have to be up Killmanjaro to make vids we would enjoy. I'm reminded of Max and Occys channel he is a paramedic which gives him the opportunity to work almost anywhere and still do vanlife stuff, remember its you that makes your channel not the content, I think having another job as well as vanlife will add another dimension to your channel and of course your life. Your honesty is so refreshing. It’s not all rainbows and sunshine living in a van alone full time. I went from a 70hr work week, 5 roommates and a full social circle, to living alone and working remotely this last year. I do love to travel, but solitude takes some mental adjustment and it was very painful at first. I felt guilty for being sad. After all I had worked toward, I was living “the dream” and had no idea why I was beginning to become depressed. Now I often meet up and travel with others and it helps a lot. I look forward to seeing how you find your inner peace and balance with this journey as well.

Congrats on finishing the build, it looks amazing! As someone who has worked solely on KZbin with multiple channels for 10+ years, I feel everything you've said and know exactly how you feel. If you are able to talk about these things so openly that's 99% of the battle. The best bit of advice I have is to just know that burnout will come, but it really doesn't hurt to take a break, even though it's very easy to become obssessed with numbers and setting targets for yourself. You eventually learn to live with the burnout, it becomes a bit more of a simmer once you get through it a few times. Maybe it goes away for some people? But i've always been an overthinker too, so perhaps not in our case. It helps most to have likeminded people in a similar situations to vent to about what often feel like 'first world, best job ever' problems. Message me on Instagram if you ever need someone to talk to!

@@WillsWhereabouts when you feel that your thoughts are running away, for me, I count backwards from 5-1 and on zero I get up and do something physical or if I can't I make myself do something like sing out a tune or move my legs and tap my feet. So if in the van, change the music, tap out a drum beat on the steering wheel, sing or whistle, but something to change the cognitive behaviour that your mind is going through. The more you do this, the more it will change the pattern because it is a pattern. You being sporty is a great thing also as it makes you concentrate on what you're doing pushing away those other thoughts for a time. But it's finding that balance as you mentioned. Good luck mate.

Problems shared, albeit with an audience of strangers almost is a problem halved. I think a lot of guys hide their mental health struggles and 12 years ago I went through a rather unexpected break up after almost 8 years with my partner at the time, I struggled massively and being a 'bloke' I tried to fix it myself and sometimes just talking to someone or hearing from another chap that I wasn't alone was a comfort - not in the sense that someone else is struggling, but that we all do at some point. Someone no doubt is watching your video and in the same position whichever mental health struggle applies and to know someone with your platform is openly talking will give them hope that they aren't alone. I've followed your journey from the old car camping days and always found you to be 'real' in the sense that you hid nothing and even showed the mishaps! I wish you nothing but the best chap, and hope you find what you need very soon and good luck with the fire service.

I understand. I built a van here in Oregon and went away on weekends to the ocean with my dog. I have recently sold the van after a few years. What I experienced was an emphasis on that I felt alone a lot of the time traveling in the van. I thought it would free myself from loneliness, but it actually made me think about it more because I didn’t have a partner to go on adventures with. It’s interesting that vanlife photos paint a picture of adventure. All my friends said they was envious of my adventures. But none of the photos really showed my feelings. I felt more isolated and lonely on the road. Thankfully I had my dog.
