Wow! Brings back some memories, had a Sig Hummer with a TD 049 pressure-fed fuel, that thing was fun! I flew the heck out of it! Got a WN version and building it, electric will be less messy, but I will miss that smell of burned methanol, nitro, and castor oil! Might try to build another one with a TD 049 I found on eBay. Gotta be careful with it, my eyes are not as good as they were then!

I have an Sig Hummer kit waiting to be built someday. I have contemplated using a Cox Medallion .09 in it.

Very nice job on your Hummer E-version, I had converted my Hummer from 049 to electric 20 years ago when lipo battery weren't around. I used brushed motor and 7 cell ni-cad and it flew well. I miss it a lot, it rip 10 years ago. Some day I will to make again. Thanks for filming this Hummer flying!

Now you just need to put some 5 inch tires on it for the landings. 😁

Just got this plane as my first balsa build. Can not find instructions on KZbin or WN site. Any suggestions or guidance would be so much appreciated and needed. Thank You

Check Willy Nillies channel for his build videos. The techniques are mostly the same for the different models. If you’ve never built a balsa RC plane before, you might find it much easier to start with a kit like those from Sig which have very detailed build manuals. These WN kits go together easily once you have some basics mastered but actually turning it into a flying airplane with all the covering, radio install, etc takes some experience for success. A person who has built traditional kits that come with plans and instruction manuals will have no problem with these neat little kits. I have suggested this route to many others who have asked as there is a lot of basic knowledge needed about model airplanes to get it finished.

@@wwilkens I hope I didn’t sound condescending in any way! This is a great hobby and I always encourage people to join in. The truth is that I just don’t have the time to teach folks that are new in this hobby due to my long work hours and family life. Willy Nillies has a nice builders page on Facebook where people share their knowledge and projects. They are currently setting up an independent forum for just that outside of social media. Check it out.

@@TeeBeeZee not at all. I was going off of a forum where they said willy-nilly’s was a good place for first-time builders. I guess maybe the form was wrong but that’s OK. It’s not like this is a ton of money

@@wwilkens Persistence will prevail! Everyone starts somewhere and these are nice little models to build and fly. They do, however, differ in that they are not built on top of a set of plans in a traditional manner. I built some of my WN kits on a TV tray while watching Netflix with my wife!

some info/observations about this design. at :08, the distance between the prop and main wing is excessive. if it ain't a cropduster, the use of full strip ailerons is Not recommended. in the case of taildragger lg, the mass of the main lg Should be beneath the wing leading edge --- when the fuselage is level. excessive lg strut height results in avoidable mass (that is also distant from the c-m). center of mass. design of the stabs is less-than stellar. cheers googletranslate typical nose design www.laser-design-services.com/Bonanza%20A-36%20plan.JPG

Again, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. This model has been around for about as long as you've been alive and flies perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with it at all. And get out of here with your 'full strip aileron' bullshit. Thousands of full scale aircraft and models use them with great effectiveness
