The website for this says "Project 1 will ship with the cover plate removed, requiring only the installation of the correct optic pin set that matches the footprint of the desired optic to be mounted. Thus, eliminating the need for a "co-witness" setup" And also "Also featuring our newly designed cover plate with dovetail rear sight and integrated firing pin stop" Does that mean that, if I draw this pistol to use for real and my red dot is dead I will not have any iron sights I can use? I mean, that is how that part of the web page for this pistol reads. It sounds like I can put the cover plate on to have a rear iron sight, OR I can take the cover plate off, have an optic, and have no rear iron sight.

I love how flat it shoots. But if it will be anything but a range pistol, it needs BUIS. I have two hard-to-find RMR HD's. Bought them in July, using the circle dot with the constant on feature, both batteries were dead by Thanksgiving. Fortunately, I check them before leaving the house. But if they died while I was out and about, with this gun, I'd be screwed much past contact distance.

you can get plates with Irons built into them. It has a front sight already installed, so yeah.
