My wife’s family owns Thai restaurants and food carts. The worst thing you can do is a soft start and not have every item available on the menu. You need to have a soft opening and not advertise it. Then a few weeks later have an official grand opening. I have refused to go back to any restaurant who was understaffed or ran out of a dish on a soft opening. Especially a grand opening.

Wilson, these are great. Have you thought of serializing these in the form of a podcast? You already have all the content you would need. There are big trends towards multi-tasking. People like to listen to stuff while they're walking, working out, cooking, etc. Could bring you to a whole new audience if you haven't tried it already!

Great video, but I don't own a restaurant but in fact work in one in a ice cream. What tips would you give to employees to provide value to the restaurant? And what can I do to make it easier for the owner?
@WilsonKLee5 жыл бұрын
bottom line for owners is sales. if you can bring in more sales, that equates value. so how do you bring in more sales? identify your clientele. provide them exactly what they want, and more importantly, what they need at that moment. best of luck! :)

food trucks are great for testing out new concepts, minimal investments. however the cons with that is licenses are often times quite difficult to get since each city has only a limited amount. also, its difficult to be on the road all the time. best of luck on your venture!

Hi Wilson, thank you for sharing, your content is fantastic! I find it difficult to understand the numbers, I’m working on it but watching your videos are helping my process. If you have any other videos on numbers would you please share? In this video, you got the average monthly total and started to deduct rent - food - labour (75%). My business isn’t opening till the end of December so I don’t have any numbers to go off, is there a way where I can prepare some assumptions to help me understand? Maybe rent + labour + food assumptions = my target to break even for the month? Hope this makes sense.

hey Dan, congrats on your being an ACTION taker and thanks for your support! In your 1st video that I've watched, you say about 3 numbers to be a success. How about another number? How much percentage you will save for bills, like electricity and water? Just I'm very confused? But I'm already calculated and assumed about that matter.

3 big cost that makes or breaks your business. COGs/Rent/Labour. the rest, utilities, electricity/water and such will not break your bank. this is just for generalization.
