On Friday, March 13th, 2020, Ash Dzick (dzick.com/) of MSOE joined us to present our WiLSWorld Short on Getting Started with Web Accessibility.
Libraries are designed to build up communities. In 2020 that community isn’t just in person; library tools and resources are increasingly online. Your online presence needs to be able to serve your entire audience - especially those who physically or mentally can’t access your physical space. Inclusive design accounts for your entire audience, no matter who or where they are. We’ll walk through a brief introduction to accessibility, why accessibility matters, and the changes required to be WCAG accessibility compliant. Participants will leave with a list of tools and resources they can immediately start to leverage, including a screen reader, magnifier, and other assistive devices that have a significant impact on how users interact with websites.
