People just think of Wilt as a physical beast and they miss out on his skill level. He's definitely one of the most skillful Centers of all time and he did it in that beastly body. The only Center to lead the league in assists... Hello? The only player to lead the league in scoring & rebounding in the same season. He did it 6 times... Hello? With the available data we have, he averaged 8.8 blocks per game for his career.... Goodbye 🐏

@Michael Powell Jokic is my favorite modern player and a great passer but Wilt led the NBA in assists and was going behind the back into the lane for buckets when Jokic wasn't even a twinkle in his Momma's eyes.

@@jingqi9106 Jokic has a better handle on the ball so he's able to makes passes off the dribble that Wilt might not have.
@jingqi91064 жыл бұрын
@@orlmagicfan4life528 When Wilt was Jokic's age and a little younger it was not unusual for Wilt to lead the break and pass off the dribble. He left Kansas and signed with the Globetrotters where he often played point guard and especially on the break because it was entertaining to see somebody over 7' leading the break, going behind his back with the dribble and throwing behind the back passes to teammates. In the NBA, for the most part, he stopped doing that because his coaches wanted him on the low block. Wilt was a great low post passer and outlet passer. Sometimes he'd dribble up court, see an open teammate, jump high in the air, do a ball fake then complete a no look pass.
@orlmagicfan4life5284 жыл бұрын
@@jingqi9106 That's very true. I would still give a slight edge to Jokic in the perimeter passing based on his ability to thread passes off of his sides to cutters in a way LeBron does. Wilt was obviously an amazing passer out of the post to cutting teammates as well. Perhaps if he wasn't scoring 50 he'd lead the league in assists every year like he once did😅
@jingqi91064 жыл бұрын
@@orlmagicfan4life528 I think if Wilt wanted to make perimeter passes with flair then he could have but that was not where he was most valuable. I will say that when I look for player highlights in the current NBA I most often look for Jokic highlights because his vision may be the best in the game and especially for big men. The high flying dunks are exciting but I get more enjoyment watching Jokic getting assists to be honest.
