Armando Ianucci is the writer / producer of some of the best satires of recent times, like 'The Thick of It'. The other fellow on Lee's team was Jim Carter, who became most famous for playing Carson, the Butler in Downton Abbey.

I think Nick will need to be put on ‘prozac-watch’ after this one! He’s wrong again,👏🏻🤣 and Jodie’s - yet again - right!

An example of why this show is so great. A fairly mundane story made hilariously memorable by the exchanges between David, Rob and Lee with others joining in. Not being a driver, I would probably have mimed the sunroof like David too.

This is my single favourite clip of WILTY. When this first aired, I pretty much couldn't breathe for half of it I was laughing so much

They should have said gibbon. A baboon has massive incisors and could probably tear your face off with one bite. Pitbull of the primate world.

When I was a child, we had one climb onto the bonnet of our car-thankfully, it left the windscreen wipers and mirrors alone.

I love how Nick is trying to calculate the 'size' and/or 'weight' of a baboon... When at NO time did anyone indicate the possible age of the baboon being discussed! It could easily have been a 'baby', a 'youngster' or an 'adult'. Additionally, it could (?) have been male or female; adult males are about TWICE the size of adult females! 🤔 😊

Yup, and there's also a huge discrepancy in size between species. The thing I didn't believe is how calm the baboon acted, Having seen monkeys in the wild, they usually go completely nuts when they come into close contact with humans, either because they can smell our food or because they're scared of us. I think Armando did well with what he was given though.

@@rasmusn.e.m1064 I didn't believe anyone would take a 2 year old to a safari park let alone forget to close the sun roof. I mean it's not like a 2 year old could see out of the window from the car seat and no parent would ignore all the reminders about keeping windows/sun roofs closed!

When I was v little, we went to a Safari Park: possibly Woburn or Windsor and in the baboon enclosure they were all over the cars. At first, my dad was quite annoyed at the people in front laughing at us because in the heat ours were weeing on the roof and one even did a large poo in the middle of the bonnet (hood) ... however we were laughing at them as their baboons were stripping off their vinyl roof! When we left, dad got a keeper to push the poop off with a stick. So funny ... however baboons, are v strong and excitable and quite dangerous - you wouldn't want one in your car! Check out the episode with the baboon in Car Share ...

We were all witness to Jodie’s abuse of Nick at the start! I’m so sorry for your plight Nick, we all thought Jodie was sweet and innocent but looks are very deceiving. Maybe you can get her a boxing bag to take out her aggression on? 🧑🏼🦽

The guy telling the story, btw, is Armando Iannucci. He created the American TV show, Veep.

& the - in my humble opinion - far superior British version that Veep was based on, "The Thick Of It"

On a similar theme you should try the WILTY "Shared a flat with a Monkey" and Brian Blessed "Orangutan".

I request a Cage Fight! That will be fun lol A few foldout tables nearby for a softer landing for Nick lol Arm told a beautiful lie, because he made it sound quite plain and boring as if it were a bit of a funny story but true. Genius! (or not very enthusiastic story-telling eg if Lee Mac got that card wow lol) Cheers guys!

Please if you have time, watch WILTY, Giles Brandreth, late, equerry to Queen, great raconteur, novelist, tv presenter, he does it all. Violin episode my favourite, imo.
