The laugh to herself while remembering their exact words before she jumped had me sold that it is the truth....not bad

What confused me was that in the late 80s I was a sapper in Germany and one of the guys used to boast he was on the challenge with her for children in need or something. So I believed this story she was telling because "knew it had occured" I checked up and it indeed was true and happened in 1987. So she mixed a real story of the sapper challenge with the fake break up one.

Are you sure it wasn't the mid-90s in Germany?
@fishyc150 Жыл бұрын
@@robyourtime I don't know exactly as wasn't there. The only one I found on line was 1987 that matched up with what I was told. Maybe she did more than one...

@@fishyc150I think @robyourtime's reply was a jovial allusion to Henning Wehn's appearances on the show...

Nah, it's Anneka Rice. She's far too lovely. She's the sort of person who'd want to do a break-up somewhere poignant, like in a nice park, so the chap could be all manly about it and do the old "we can still be friends? " thing, even though she'd just ripped his still-beating heart from his chest and crushed it underfoot like a disgarded cigarette butt. At least, that's what I believe, and I'm sticking to it.

David is not very good at discerning what is true or a lie, but that's what makes the show so engaging. Victoria Coren-Mitchell is excellent at it, in the episode with Mackenzie Crook she was baffled by the fact that David could not tell it was an obvious truth, which I guess is what makes her such a successful poker player. But if she were a captain the show would not be half as funny: Bob Mortimer's tales are funny, but David consistently getting the truth or lie bit wrong is what makes them hilarious.
