make a video about the old benoni defense because sicilian players will love it Starts with: 1. d4, c5 Lines: 2. if exc5, nf6 3. Most players will play nf3, continue with e5 4.1 if e4, Bxc5 5. Bc4 and continue with a somewhat Rousseau gambit with f5, you win many tempos 4.2 if nc6, continue with Bxc5. You have control of the center, almost a lead in development, and some tempos. and the thing about this is that they can go for smith morra and any other normal openings that they usually would play, perfect for sicilian players.

Hey random question here. Is there still a trap white can play if black defends the bishop on F5 by the Knight on D4 by playing Pawn to E6 rather then moving the Bishop away? Or is it development as usual? Thanks love the videos

By the way, at the beginning of the video, it will be more precise to say "If you know both yourself and your opponent's plan, you can crash your opponent in 100 battles" according to Sunzi's original word.

Just an advice to Caro players keep the position closed as long as you can and also try to trade the light square bishop early that diagonal is very important in Caro kann defence

I tried this tonight but on the second move, my opponent, instead of playing D5, played E5, and I had this weirdly placed Knight on E2. It was a hard fought game but I finally went down like a rock in about 80 moves. Computer gave me 90% accuracy but it really hated that Knight move.

Then white plays d4, 4..e6 leads to an advanced French kind of position but 4..g6 is a crazy line and better for black.

Nice trap. A simple way to refute it is to play 5...Qd6 and after 6. ef+ B:f7, you play Nd7 and 0-0-0.

What if the pawn takes the bishop instead of the qween at 03:40 min. What will you do then? The knight move will be a blunder in that situation as the pawn can simply recapture and white will be down pieces and on a tough spot. I don't know if I'm correct, but I just want to know what you would do in that situation.

Nxb6 wins the Queen. Both in this line and the one shown, White has the Queen for 2 minor pieces, and his pieces are more active. So after axb6, Qf3 is really hard for Black to meet with the double threat of Qxa8 and Qc6. If Rc8, Qb7 with a new double threat of Qxc8 and Qd7. And if now Rd8, Qc6+! mates in 2. The e6 pawn is a huge thorn in Black's side.

Even before I try this, I know that most of my opponents will use their bishop to pin my knight to the queen instead😅 Just hoping that playing f3 doesn't create any problems in that case

I would imagine that they either play Bf5, when you continue as shown, or more likely Bh5, when you can continue with Nf4 followed by e6. Not quite as trappy as the game, but again awkward to meet.
