Spot on Sam! Typically .223 is checked usually from a 24" barrel, where "5.56" is done from a 20" barrel. But there are variations to the testing equipment that can skew the results.

The M193 velocities were the same as .223 from the 16 inch barrel in this video, under 3000. On your test the M193 went above 3100 on your 16 inch barrel. What do you think of this because I'm very puzzled. Lake City M193 should be moving a lot faster than this

Winchester Lake City M193 shouldn't be getting below 3,000 fps out of a 16 inch barrel.. I've seen other videos where it gets up to 3100.

This was slow for Lake city ammo. I put M193 through an AR500 armor plate from a 16in barrel. Seem tests putting velocity up to 3150 FPS. But some of the 20in barrel were less and some of the 16in was 2900.... was it cold when you did this test? Wonder if they changed the pressure

Same, I used to get 3100ish out of a 16", and almost 3300 out of a 20" Wonder why it varies from case to case

The velocities tend to vary by many attributes, it was not cold but there are a variety of factors that could’ve made our test different from yours. All of our tested velocities seem within a normal range, but results may differ

@iShowUnusualBehavior no. My barrels I've used were a SW MP15 16in 1 in 9 5.56 NATO and a Daniel Defense M4A1 14.5in 1 in 7 CMV CHF 5.56 NATO

He explains at the end of the video, just designated a packaging variation- 20 round box vs a 200 round sub pack vs a 500 round sub pack, vs 1000 round bag of loose rounds, etc. All packages that start with W223 are the same ammo as each other, just a different container. Same with W556.

I don't think there are any differences between the 2 ammo. I genuinely think they just heat treat the casing on 5.56 and box it. apart from that I think the ammos are identical.

Well, you can't argue with marketing KZbin fud. They will never understand that the M16 was chambered in the 22 caliber Remington cartridge and that the Belgians then developed the 22 caliber NATO chambers. The U.S. was forced to adopt the superior Belgian and the locals have never have been dazes and confused because of their inability to use metric measurements.
