Great job. One thing to add is use a nickel $.05 for the takedown screw. I read that it was designed for that and on mine it fits perfectly and no danger of scuffing anything with a screw driver.

Great video tutorial! Very descriptive. What brand of cleaning rod are you using if I may ask? I am tired of these cheap screw together rods that disappoint.

It is a Dewey one piece rod. They are fantastic. I get the smaller diameter (.17 I think) they recommend it on their website. Works great. Worth the price.

Thanks for the instructive video. Quick question - you mentioned using carnauba wax on the stock. That smooth stock looked great with the wax. Do you think that wax will be good on a checked stock too? Thanks in advance.

That is a good question. The raw wood may soak in the wax and turn white, I am not sure. I have only used it on sealed wood. You could run it up to the edges of the checkering and see how it looks. Also use it lightly. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Do you have a video on how to replace the extractor on a 9422M. Mine will eject live rounds without issues but once you fire the rifle it will not pull out the fired magnum cartrridge from the barrel. there are no gunsmiths where I live so I have to try to fix it myself. Visual inspection shows no damage to the extractor but I want to replace it with the spring as part of my truouble shooting steps. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a video on that particular part. I do show the parts in this video but I don't disassemble them. I would take it apart like in this video and clean everything really well. Pay particular attention to the moving parts in the block and make sure it is scrubbed clean in there. I think a good cleaning of the chamber is in order as well. The case tends to get stuck in a dirty chamber after firing. Start with a really good cleaning of everything. I don't have a good gunsmith near me either. Good luck.

What cleaner john to use?

For general cleaning I use a mixture of ATF (transmission fluid) low odor mineral spirits and K1 kerosene. 1/3 of each mixed together in equal parts. It is a generic solvent/cleaner I have used for years. It DOES smell and it is poisonous, and flammable, but it works. It is essentially "Ed's Red" bore cleaner without acetone. I don't use any acetone near wood or finish. Even denatured alcohol can ruin wood finish. Be careful and use safety glasses and rubber gloves. Use anything in a well ventilated area. Good luck.
