I have the same gun along with a 9422 legacy in l-lr. Both in very good to excellent condition. I have a 2x7 scope mounted on the 22 magnum and it is very accurate @ 100 yards. I know some don't like the idea of a scope mounted on a lever gun but when I purchased this gun it was never intended to be a safe queen. It is a pretty gun though and I do try and take care with it.

Great video! One question, I have the model 9422 XTR, how do you know if it’s supposed to shoot .22 mag or just regular .22rl? I know this is a rookie question, but I’d rather ask and be safe than assume.

Hi! I'm not much of a gun aficionado, but I inherited a gun from my late grandfather that I *believe* is a Winchester 9422M. At the very least, the ammunition he had with it is 22WMR, though it has a checkered grip that yours doesn't have. It's the one he taught me to shoot with as a child in his backyard, so I have fond memories. Do I understand you correctly that I should NOT shoot 22LR through this, only 22 magnum? That was my assumption, but it's good to get confirmation. Thanks!

@@GUNS-GDC The 9422 was the first Winchester angle eject. They are also a takedown. Forged steel, and machined receiver. Top shelf internals. No pot metal, or stamped parts. It was Winchester's reentry into the higher end rifle game post '64.

THE 9422 IS POSIBLE THE WORST EVER,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I KNEW A FELLOW THAT GOT ONE OF THE FIRST MAGNUM MODELS ,,,,,,,THE BARREL WAS DRILLED AND RIFLED 1/16TH OFF CENTER FROM RECIEVER TO MUZZLE ,,,,HE CONTACTED WINCHESTER AND THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING ...........

Ron- Miroku NEVER made a version of the 94/22. The only ones sold by Winchester were made in New Haven, CT from 1972 to 2004. I do kniw that NORINCO in China made 9422 knockoffs that have been sold in Canada.
