Clutch, you don’t need to disconnect your radar unit. Just put some kind of plate on the front of the radar unit housing that reflects or disorts the radar signal. That will cause your ACC system to read that something is obstructing the front of the radar unit, which won’t let the ACC work, but the cruise control screen that comes up should give you the option to operate the CC in non-adaptive mode. At least that was the case for the 2016-2021 year model Cascadias that I’ve driven since 2017. But the 2024 model does NOT give you the option to run non-adaptive CC if the radar unit is obstructed.

The newer the truck the more plastic. My company got a new truck, the interior lights don't come on when you open the driver's door because the switch broke. The truck came that way. Clutch, what year is your Cascadia? Because until I had to swap out my 2021 for a 2024 this year, I used to be able change the headlight bulbs individually. I’m wondering if your truck had an accident that required the hood and/or headlight assemblies alone had to be replaced and the dealer’s repair shop replaced it with the replacement hood that has those sealed headlight units.

To add to the Freightliner rant-I've driven a 2020 and 2024 Cascadia and both trucks eat up steer tires. the tires start cupping on either shoulder of the tires. I don't believe the company set the steering geometry correctly. I also don't believe they know how to make a leakproof windshield gasket. @mumblesbadly770827 күн бұрын
Clutch, you shouldn’t put so much slack in your seatbelt, as that much slack would allow you to lurch too fast forward before the shoulder strap hits your upper body, worsening whatever damage the impact with the shoulder strap imparts on your upper body.
@ClutchTrucker15 күн бұрын
In a big truck. The biggest problem is your body leaving the seat. That is still low and tight

Hey clutch tough decision to buy a newer truck but all the problems u had with it this is just me I would have kept the Coronado and put the money into it instead of the cascadia it's a much more reliable truck and customized just for you but that's just me
@JohnHallgren27 күн бұрын
Part of the issue was that he would have been out of work for extended time period to get inframe done, plus he could get a tolerable loan for newer truck but not for the engine work, as I understand it.
@pcap270027 күн бұрын
@ don’t know what he paid for the cascadia but an in frame today is around thirty five thousand and should probably take about a week and the cascadia has about 670,000 miles on it about which is about 300,000 short of the cascadia get where I’m going here another 300,000 to catch up to the cascadia he’s lucky he didn’t have to pay for the one box I’ve would have rebuilt the Coronado and have a much more reliable emission free truck again that’s just me
@JohnHallgren27 күн бұрын
@ and another thing I forgot to mention was that based on higher MPG even with DEF, he calculated that his cost per mile would be enough less to help make it more cost effective. I believe he had said the inframe would have been at least a month or more, possibly because of limited resources in his area.
@pcap270027 күн бұрын
@@JohnHallgren that might be true but again I would take a permission truck any day of the week especially he already has one I get it with the maybe 2 extra miles maybe he might be getting but there’s always emission problems with the newer trucks and it’s pre Eld !
@JohnHallgren27 күн бұрын
@@pcap2700 it’s been too long since we talked about it but I thought it was maybe about $1000 a month he might save due to mileage difference. Which, if true, certainly would be a factor.
