Whoever would say that Steve has not been watching or listening to you. I’ve followed for awhile and you have always emphasized both strong and straight. I’m going on 61 and have only been playing for a year. Being a power hitter from a long baseball and softball background I’ve been able to hit in 300 yd range consistently. My issue as a young golfer was the natural slicing right bend which nullifies the power. You have helped me greatly in understanding the mechanics of my drive swing and make changes. So much so that during this years peak season I have been hitting about 75-80% of my long drives even longer and straighter. Thank you for all you do to help us. Blessings.

Hey Steve, just wanted to thank you for the golf lessons. I have been following you for about 4 weeks and my game has improved every week. Today a shot a 78 with 3 penalty stokes and an eagle on the 18th! You've made golf fun again!

Steve I am 72 and have been following a lot of Mike Austin and Mike Dunaway. But your explanation of the swing of Mikes is very good. I have been a 3 handicap and as I have gotten older I have lost a lot of distance. So I do what a lot of people do is search the internet hoping to find the holy grail. Well I have tried some of the stuff you are teaching. I have gained-no lie 40-50 yards on my drives and better accuracy with my irons and 10+yards . My buddies are wondering what happened. I was hitting my driver 205-215 yards. 240-250 really makes a difference. Thanks for your expertise. Well done.

I suggested all my senior golfers I know to learn Austin/Dunnaway swing. It s massive less hurt to a body than a modern swing.

Wow Steve. Yes, I'm more of a merri-go-round type of swinger. After watching this video, I thought "what the hell, let's try this on the range". It only took a few swings to become convinced and I completely changed to more of a "tilt a whirl", both with my shoulders, but also with my hips. I notice my head tends to go lower to the ground, but I'm surprised that I'm hitting the ball farther. Thank you sir.

This is my problem! When I play my best I have a very upright plane but sometimes I fall into a slump and when that happens inevitably my shoulders have lost their steepness. That pulls my arms down flat and I can’t release from there. Thank you!

Steve, thank you for the lesson. What do you do actively with the shoulders, lats, torso on the downswing if anything to add power; or is the windup being unwound by the lower body on the downswing.
@luisjuarez12004 жыл бұрын
Steve do you actively use or feel any of the lats pulling in backswing or downswing as mentioned by Bryson in the following video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJbUi4hsgNR1hrM

Hi Steve, great video as usual. Have you come across someone like me who can swing a 7irom 94 mph but only manage 106-107 with effort with the driver? Is it equipment or simply me not coping with the swing weight properly? Thanks

Yes I have. It's a bit of a mystery to me. Does it mean you should back off the 7 iron? Not sure.

I realised that I can’t rotate my shoulders enough because I’m too bent over. If I straighten up a little I have more rotation. But know my shafts are too short :)
