tokyo revengers is like tragic and sad. its also a serious anime. they have an antagonist and all and people die and stuff like that but windbreaker is not like that. i dont know why people even compare them

After seeing both, there really is no comparison. They offer very different types of stories, messaging, and intensities. They are each their own thing and cannot understand the comparison of Tokyo Revengers and Windbreaker amongst people either.

Yeah the two have very different vibes and stakes and there’s nothing wrong with that. Only similarities are some character designs and the fact that there are delinquents, but even then the Tokyo revengers involved biker gangs and later on adult yakuza stuff, different with windbreaker which is mostly just school delinquents and local brawl gangs. It’s kinda like if people tried comparing summer time rendering with Haikyuu vibe-wise lol😅

they are comparable because they are both delinquent animes which allows them to be comparable. things with the same or similar concepts will get compared

I love the full in-depth analysis!! I would say that Tokyo Revengers plot line could be more comparable to Erased & Summertime Rendering. However, the aspect of delinquents can bring both the anime’s into the same realm. Tokyo Revengers may be on the heavy side of gangs with violence and darkness, but Windbreaker is more of a heroic storyline. Now if windbreaker starts to exhibit more violence and loss, it might carry a just similarity. Now it has been found that the author of windbreaker was inspired by the author of Tokyo Revengers.

Thank you for watching! I definitely see the parallel a little more with the anime you've highlight above. All 3 share the elements of time travel, some violence and gore and thriller, and there is always some sense of regret that our MCs want to resolve. Thanks for highlighting that!

FINALLY, a video analysis about Wind Breaker! I totally agree with you about the comparison between them. Tokyo Revengers is about regret and fighting through wicked situations, while Wind Breaker is about coming to understand and face one's and other people's emotions. This makes them profoundly different in my opinion, so much so that the only thing they have in common is the genre (and even then, TR has paranormal elements which WB does not). I did like Tokyo Revengers, but I love Wind Breaker far more - it's much more relatable, the characters are more well-rounded, the fights are not as dragged out and choreographically superior too. I love everything about this. I basically agree with everything you say about windbreaker. It is a show about finding your people, your family. It is a nice gangster show, which is very oxymoron. I cant say much about Tokyo Revengers. I may give it another chance but I had a hard time getting past episode 1. The MC is a type of character I don't care for and I couldnt even relate to him at the end of episode 1. I have a hard time watching an anime where I dont care for the main character but I may to try and have a better idea of Revengers and their ideas.

i think the person who made wind breaker was inspired by Tokyo revengers so they are kinda similar and both have to do with high school gangs they are pretty similar ofc they are not the same

I disagree with you and find tokyo revengers has a lot more emotional depth because in real life, people's trauma doesn't get wrapped up with an uplifting happy little bow. For example, Mitsuya, Hakkai, and and Draken had plenty of emotional resolution, but it wasn't a big eureka moment - it was just them deciding to march on and be the best people they can be even though they grew up in bad circumstances. Maybe people who didn't have rough upbringings can't relate.

i was never pulled to watch windbreaker it just always seemed kind of basic when it comes to plot and I've never liked protags who stat the show as a badass that's why I love takimichy, I got to see his growth and he often could never make a situation turn out prefect the plot was aways moving getting more complex. I was away disappointed when people say they dislike takimity because of him having emotions and not being the strongest because that just how the world is. most people arnt strong like Mikey but that's what seprirats takimichy for the rest, he isn't strong but he still fights.

This just popped up on my page and its cool to see someone compare the two. In my opinion, I hate to consider the fact that Tokyo revengers was bought out by Disney after the 2nd season making it spiral down hill... Also Draken's main voice actor having Cheating accusations leading to him getting fired and having a new VA for the new Draken seasons. Tokyo revengers will always have my heart but GOD DAYUM shit is going downhill... Its nice to get a breath of fresh air with Windbreaker.

The whole Kodansha Disney exclusive partnership really makes it hard for people to access some of their favorites now. I hear that the manga goes wayward so curious how it's gonna get adapted in the anime. Windbreaker really is different. I enjoyed it thoroughly

Look, you gotta go into it without thinking about Tokyo Revengers. They really are nothing alike. Windbreaker is a lighthearted action story about finding your clan and using your fists for the protection of your values.
