CJ Classics Window Regulators are an excellent replacement for your 1965-1966 Mustang. They are silver cadmium plated to prevent rust, and feature the original metal thickness on body, a high tension spring to ease in operation, correct threads, and exact dimensions as the original for proper handle alignment. These regulators also have an extra strong internal gear with improved rivets.
Bill notices our project car, the Weekend Wrench, could benefit from replacement window regulators, and the original ones are no longer very effective. He begins this installation by removing the door panel to access the window parts and pointing out exactly which bolts are necessary to remove.
Our Weekend Wrench's scissor extension is next to be removed, followed by the original regulator. Bill decides to replace the window rollers, as well, which he notes were the main problem with our window's movement up and down.The new CJ Classics regulator is then installed in the car, along with the scissor extension and new rollers.
Finally, test your window's movement and then re-install your door panel. Total installation of both doors should take up to an hour.

I would advise that you place a wedge in the window to keep it in place before you unbolt anything. My window held in place for a few minutes then fell straight to the bottom of the door soon after I unbolted the regulator but before I had time to remove it. Going to be fun getting it back up as it will not pull up if you grab it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, I think the hardest part of the job on a 67 is the height/travel adjustment. If the window is too deep in the channel, then it's a real job to get the window to roll all the way to the top of the stroke without leaving a small (1/16th) gap. Could you post a video of adjustment, I think that would be helpful.

We don't at this time but I am sure we will add one in the future. The door panel removal is the same. The 67-68 regulator is actually a little easier since there is no scissor to deal with. The regulator is held on by 4 bolts, two directly above the door handle and 2 further forward in the door.

Don't use lithium grease on rollers. It turns hard like concrete later and stress parts.

Excellent video enabling a real amateur like me to do the job. Thank you. Good news is that the window now closes properly. Bad news is the scissor arm studs (original part) now pop out of the new rollers when window opened about 25%. To much lateral stress, weak new roller clips or what?

I’ve looked at dozens and this is definitely the best one I’ve seen. I’d like to see a little more about the wing glass and the rear guide, but for the time of the video this was excellent. I am still trying to figure out why the blue rollers when the scissors come with the white ones what did I miss there?

The window will actually stay in place most of the time, if all the weatherstrip is worn it may fall but typically it will stay up.

My 66 Mustang’s window on the drivers side rolls down a little here and there when I hit bumps could it be the Scissor or something ?

great info- one question, I assume the windows drops into the door? I see the top edge of the window in the door until 1/2 way point in the video then it isn't visible- correct?

How do I adjust my window up? My drivers side window doesn't go up all the way and the crank get bound up.

so i replaced my window regulator on my 1965 mustang, rolls up and down fine now but seems its at a angle cause the driver window hits the back side window no. over laps by 1/2 inch maybe,what do you think i did wrong, hope to hear back thank you

So do you need to block the window to hold it all the way up or tape it up? Will it slide down after the scissors are removed?

Yes you want to secure the window in the up position.
